Well I am sure some of you have heard or read the rumors about a new 360 model. It was rumored to be called the Zephyr. However, the name changed and it will be called The Elite.

It will contain a 120 gigabtye harddrive, come standard with 24k gold HDMI cables, and record television broadcasts to the harddrive like TiVo. The system will also be black, as well all the accessories. The best news, it will retail at $479.99, still $120 cheaper than the best system Sony has to offer.

They will go on sale on April 29th in the US.

I heard about this, I think the hard drive is a bit much, I still haven't used 120 GB of my computer hard drive yet, but I like the idea , I just wonder when europe will get it.

id use it for recording tv.. but i wouldnt benefit from the other new features anyway since i use a crt monitor for HD gfx theres no point for HDMI

heh, same BB, my HDTV is in a whole other room, and the ethernet cable isn't long enough, and I dont feel like shelling out £60 for a wireless adaptor.
TiVo is american right, so, would this work with freeview or sky?

TiVo is a method to record television. Yes it works in Europe. From the way the microsoft Rep told us the 360 can be set to start recording anything that your tv is receiving, whether it be satelite, cable, even standard reception through aerial antennae.

That is why the harddrive is 120gb. enfo mate, once you start recording HD broadcasts you'll quickly burn up that 20gb harddrive that comes standard with the premium. I've used 80gigs on my PC in HD downloads. That would fill up a 600$ PS3, and a 500$ one.

I don't care if he hates Sony, and I know he doesn't hate Sony. He just likes to come at me, and the rest of the world, for buying the so called "inferior" Playstation 3. And he does everything to rub it in our faces.

I was comparing the harddrive and explaining why someone would need a 120gb harddrive, but yea I love my PSP, and God of War 2 is awesome, except for the ending!

I now understand the size of the hard drive, the new 360 will be like a VCR?, just set it for the channel you want to record and it will record it?, would be nice, especially because we dont have TiVo over here, if I'm correct, we just have different hardware and recording devices.

as said too many times with ps3 vs the 360, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I'm a 360 head, and I dont like the overpricing of the ps3, but I'm not against anyone who does like them.

I'll be getting this.
One thing though, if you buy the HDD 120 gig seperate to update your existing 360, you get the kit to transfer your info from the 20 gig to the 120 gig HDD.
If you buy the Elite though you don't get the same kit!!! So you can't transfer stuff from your current 360 to your elite system.

Hopefully the stores will have the kit available for you to do it.
