most of them skins only get moded for the game, any outside editing of the skins can get one banned from novaworld.com stats servers real fast.

a host can use a mod that has new skins made and all using them in a server hosted by a gamer. players and host have to have the same skin. this is call even fair game balance. player and host use anything in the mod.

to change the skin for any charters to they not look the same is to some a cheat do to somthing was change about it. this is why some can get banned for this reason.

if you like to make skin for charters to use in a mod and all can use the same skin this is cool.

to edited the skin go here they know the in's and out's when it come to making skins and mods for the games
1.) http://www.dfarena.com/

well, they must have changed it in when they made df land warrior. I have fw0 ravens 3di viewer and you need to export the textures with it edit the textures and then compress them again with the 3di tool.

anyone know how you could know a skin is changed? like a buggy turned white or somthing?

btw this is ziprock

iirc fw0 3di utility pull out the 3di model and the skin to show you what it looks like properly, as opposed to the series of points a 3di is...

i think you mean the .pff tool?

the 3di viewer enabled you to view the game models nothing more, nothing less.
the pff tool extracts all the game files including textures/sounds/models etc for editing.

to skin all you need to do it extract the required image file, change it, then put it in the game filder, and run the game with a modified shortcut 'c:\path\to\game\file.exe /d'
