Sooo the med keeps crashing

I can't keep the dfx med open for more than a minute or two. It will ALWAYS crash after the first or second time i open up an items attributes. I can insert objects and move them just fine as long as i don't want to assign any object to a group etc.


This happens on both my computers i have. Same exact thing.



Also ill mention i deleted my cache and i tried running med all by itself with no other programs in the background etc. Nothing seemed to help.

did you make a shortcut and change the setting for it as in

no but im running xp and i tried running it for win2000, nt, and 98. worked for a a few minutes but im still having the problem.

ok have you added anything to the game folder?

how much page file is set for your system and how much ram you have in your system?

run it in admin mode. i used the unlocked med for bhd, and it crashed, but when i opened up the old med, it was just like the unlocked. run in win xp sp2 and admin mode.

Is numlock turned on? may be a dumb question but that solved the problem with my ancient computer 1998 - 2005

tried a fresh install of dfx and that didn't solve my problem. Its frustrating for a mapper to not be able to run the med.

think you can edited the med shortcut in the target field add in the end

_ space

exe"_/showall or exe"_-showall
remove _ in it and added in the end of the target field

to use a stander mep editor been a long time i done that so not 100% if it right or not to unlock it

I agree the DFX MED crashes a lot. I think it is just one of those glitches that Nova refused to fix. I reported it, when the game first came out, and all NOVA Techs told me was the MED was an "AS IS" program. Get in the habit of hitting save after every object you put on the map.
