What was their basis for coming to their decision?
I've never fancied Australia but Canada definatley, but mainly because of the countryside.
I live in a dive of a place in the UK but I am only about a 30 minute drive from some of the best countryside in the world, so I doubt (particularly with Oz) that great scenic value is on the top of the agenda.
Why are these places the best. And on what authority do they derive their decision?

they base it on pretty much everything, enonomy, crime rate, afforibility of living, building prices and yes they do take scenery into account.

Australia is prety good with scenery that's why it's popular with movie makers we have everything, snow, mountains, hills, plains, desert, rainforest, tropical rainforest etc etc you just have to pick the right place
