New 50 player server

yea if you have a super upload speed where i live and i am sure its in most places where the uploads are too low to host
50 players plus it frees up ur computer so it does not host a game 24/7 and eat up bandwidth


i know most ppl think renting a server is high but

take for example a squad of 24 players who want to rent a 99 dollar server a month it would come out to be less than 5 bucks a person a month so its not that bad.

i know i would rather pay 5 bucks a month and keep my computer free to do as i please.and it not be tied up in serving 24/7

in the UK u can only get 256 upload to homes, and u need 2mb (or 4 cant think right now) upload at least for a 50 player. so if anyone can host 50 players from home than they are very lucky

I'm running a server quite often on my computer (but its not dedicated) and i'm running broadband, and there never appears to be any lag, only when someone has a 56k or something slow when everyone else has something fancy, but i guess i'm the only one in my street who has broadband... oh wait i was the first one to get it

you need 800kb upload to do 50 players
128kb does 8 players thats 16kb per playr times 50 players
now if nova could drop trhat to 4 kb per player it would be great.

i got DSL,i dont host, my gameplayis just fine...lol

BTW,when i download stuff i usally hit 140-170 kbs on DSL ... is that slow compared to yall?

i download stuff at 250K to 300K on charter cable

my speeds are 2megs down 128K upload

Well we are renting the server it is on a T3 line. The upload is 43megs. so theres no lag there, I live on the east cost of the USA and my home computer connection is 256up and 3megs down, it handle 16players as long as somone with a bad dailup connection don't come in. When that happens the pings can get pretty bad. PS. we in Bad need of 50player maps lol..

if you are hosting BHD you could take the Normandy maps, they are hosted for 50 players over 9 month quite well
we are changing to TeamSabre soon and i am sure you would have your clients on them....
