Be careful with XP and Win7 as multiboot,

Use 2 drives one for each OS

Do not install win7 while the XP drive is connected (or visa versa)

Then connect every thing and boot to bios

You should change root drives and boot (XP or W7 drive) from the BIOS/CMOS not with a boot manager

Set XP not to monitor recycle bin where win7 is
and tell win7 not to monitor XP recycle bin

Depends on what version of Windows 7 you have chief.. Max for any 32bit system is 4gb... Win7 Home premium 64bit can use upto 16gb.

Look in the manual and or Bios for the standard frequencies. Try this tool to tell you your current system specs from your Windows Desktop
CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/

Example Log File
Quote:
Northbridge Intel P965/G965 rev. C2
Southbridge Intel 82801HB/HR (ICH8/R) rev. 02
Graphic Interface PCI-Express
PCI-E Link Width x16
PCI-E Max Link Width x16
Memory Type DDR2
Memory Size 2048 MBytes
Channels Dual (Symmetric)
Memory Frequency 299.0 MHz (1:1)
CAS# 5.0
RAS# to CAS# 5
RAS# Precharge 5
Cycle Time (tRAS) 14
Command Rate 2T
I suggest you Use the ZIP version - no installer

Be careful not to put 4 sticks in if it's dual channel most have 2 slots for one type of memory and 2 for another matched pair. Only specific boards allow 4 sticks (rare in older editions) IE 2x 2gb 800MHz or 2x 4GB etc.

looks like you are in the DDR2 Channels (slot #1 and Slot #3) and all is OK you could speed your ram only minimally (380 to 400MHz the 800MHz comes from doubling the ram with Dual Channel support) and the other pair of ram channels (#2 and #4) are possibly for DDR3 but I can't really tell so it looks like you will need your MoBo manual to tell you what the other 2 are. If they are all DDR2 you can have 4 but if Dual channel you will have to
upgrade to higher 2x DDR2 PC6400 / 800MHz / 2GB to give you 4GB
