Angry Downloading maps

When I download maps and try to open it from the map editor to view it, it says "This isn't a MIS file would you like to create it" then I push yes and it says "error parsing MIS file"

Those quotes aren't exact but thats pretty much it.

All help is appreciated!

you need to use a BMS to MIS converter before you open it up in the editor.

Just keep trying and look into the maps within singleplayer....

If you have the mis and you dont know how to map you'll wind up copy and pasting... Something i personally hate and despice...

It took me over a year to learn all the curves with DF2 mapmaking, and i never used anything else then the standard mapeditor to create my best maps.. All custom work and with lots of trial and error..

I dont know wether DFX supports the following trick, but this is the way i used for DF2.

Start building custom things, place SP Spawn marker near it, save and export, load the bms in the game and see how it looks. If you need to correct something, alt+tab to the editor, make the changes and save and export again.. Alt+tab to game, hit ~ (tilde) and reload the map with the command resetgames.

Just keep doing this untill it finally comes good. Its lots of work but i feel this is the most satifying way.

And the C4 editor ( i think ) has been transformed so you can edit maps in 3D view and wireframe view etc, that should make things easyer for ya..
