Setup Will Not Run
Well, I decided to dust off my BHD cd and put it in for a spin after a few years. To my disappointment, the setup will not run. The "prepare InstalSheild" stops at 99%, then exits. After that, my CD just keeps spinning.
The problem does not seem to lie with my CD because it does the same thing with a burned copy. Thanks in advance for the help.

Or alternatively it could be your CD drive. Also, try reinstalling - but first completely delete your DFBHD folder. Hope that helps. Chris

take a hard look at that Cd see if it need cleaning off. it could stop installing if it can't read the Cd data files do to dirt, crack in the Cd check for cracks hold it under a light face up data side up, then tip it side to side see hairline cracks in it.
mostly it could be a dirty Cd. if the game folder did get install unstall what there is of it and reboot system, then try to install it. add & remove will not work if the items in the game folder did not install right with errors. after restarting system back to desktop then try to install it then

Also just make sure there isn't any other apps in the background while installing - some may hog big amounts of memory and clash with the installer while it's installing.
And what William said - reboot then try reinstalling. Chris

Just curious - any one google it?
Turns out this is a known issue - and appears to be attributed to the deep folder structure for the temp file. The solution is to change the temp file to a different location so it doesn't have to dig deep into folders. The installshield page covering this is found here - with instructions on the fix: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=q110648%20 I would try that also. |

Wow. Thanks for all the replies.
I tried everything listed above, and nothing works. I've noticed that after instalsheild reaches 99%, the CD stops spinning in the drive. Oh, if this is relvent to anything, the proccess that run when I try to install are: ntvdm.exe _isdel.exe winoldap.mod wowexec.exe and after a while, this one appears: 0016134E._MP

Have you tried any other CDs that use InstallShield and do they halt at 99% or so?

Wisteria I had the same issue and even though my BHD has quite a bit of scratches on it, I finally got mine to work.It happened here like 3 weeks ago and I tried everything.I even cleaned it with alcohol and toothpaste and couldnt get it to install. Then next thing I know 1 or 2 days later I go to try it again and it works then.
I would just keep trying to install it.You might even try opening the folder through My Computer and right clicking on the disc and selecting open. Then running the setup manually by clicking Setup.

I have seen this happen and it was due to a program in the background. This has always been an issue. What i would try to do is go to your task manager. Close ALL processes that are not needed. Most of them will open back up if they are needed. Do this from the processes tab as you wont see much on the applications tab. After you install then you can reboot and have everything run as normal.
