Angry DF2 graphical problem

I run my DF2 in hardware mode 800*600 and has seen the following problems:
Objects of a map appeared through a game landscape. Please somebody help me to fix it! May be was any grafical patch, which added new high screen resolutions ? My monitor support 1280*1024, and how i can run game in 1280*1024 resolution?

1.) DF2 game is super old trying to look for a newer version of a update for this game is none.
it was made for older windows system, the max it can go to 800x600 at the time that was a good setting to play it was the stander back them days, it was new on the market, like all thing time change and no fix will fix that or new update the game engine is super old stander now days

as for the terrain with item in it showing through it, disable AA option in the video (card/chip) graphic setting. may clear that up when playing this game. or try seek a update for your video card/chip they may have a update it by this time.

there two updates one need for DF2
1.) game update (way old anyways)
link: http://www.novahq.net/?show=utilitie...get_file&id=47

2.) server link do to novalogic, inc has move all their server hardware to a new location so all the URL-address has change inside the game. need the newer update for nl-server location to play online with others.
link: nlexepatcher.zip
follow the direction it ask of you

if i remember rightly, DF Optirun can force a higher resolution in DF2: http://www.novahq.net/?show=utilitie...get_file&id=38

maybe just a little higher, i dont think 1280x1024

it must alter the df2.cfg file, so maybe you can change it yourself. save it and make the file read only maybe.

Hardware mode does not run in any graphics card except the TNT and TNT2 cards. You have to run it in software mode unfortunately.

To run the game in software at 1280*1024 you are going to need a fast dual core atleast, even though it is a 10 year old game the voxel system is a resource hog.

Yup Bustin's right. Which does suck unfortunately, because on software it uses the CPU and not your graphics card.

I did actually fiddle with the .cfg the other day however, and I think the highest the resolution went for me is 1024 x 768 (any higher and the game res in the .cfg says 99999). While the frame rate was good enough, there's a massive boost in frame rate when you go down a resolution (800 x 600).

If you put 7 in the .cfg line and your monitor supports 1280*1024 it will load it. I only manage about 10 fps that high so I only use it for screenshots.

WTF! How many posts on my question! Thanks all for your messages and desire to me to understand the put question about graphics problems in my DF2...

I have turn off AA in control panel of my Nvidia video card and patched my DF 2 to last version, but problem of terrain and objects has remained. Wtf! Why?

I used DF Optirun v.2.1. I have found there settings for game resolution but max resolution was 1024*768.

Yeah! I heard what that game was created and optimized for this videocards as at that time they very popular (I remember what I at that time dreamed to buy such video card).

Yeah, rogue that. I tried to open df2.cfg file and change option game_res to 7 and before this i go to game and check game settings and I has seen:
"software - 1280*960". I have 19" LCD monitor with max resolution 1280*1024 (I specially bought such monitor for such games as DF2 and for old games) and for better picture i need 1280*1024. When game was runned with 1280*960 i give an error: "sysdump.txt". I think: as game was created in time where was not LCD monitors and were TFT monitors (My first monitor was such and have max resolution 1280*960), therefore DF2 engine don`t knows what is 1280*1024. So, i have core 2 duo laptop and I shall play with software -1024*768 if I can`t fix game problems in hardware mode .
All thanks for your messages and ggz

R6, the question's already been answered for you. I doubt William's advice (sorry Chief ) about turning off AA will do anything. It's simple - DF2 wasn't designed to run on these cards on hardware mode. Doesn't matter how good your graphics card is. I'll quote the readme file from DF2:

Quote:
Delta Force 2 currently supports TNT and TNT2 chipsets, as well as the ATI Rage Fury card.
Yes it does suck running the game in software mode, but at least you can still run it anyway.
