BHD crashes to desktop after video test

Hi everyone, I purchased BHD today so that I could play the game with my little brother.

When I start the game up, it recognizes the vid card and then performs the test. It goes through the test and the just exits (no messages or logs) to the desktop. I've checked task mgr and there's no instances of it hung or running in the background.

Quick specs on my machine:
ATI X1950 Pro AGP
Core2 Duo 2.66
2gb RAM
Win XP Pro fully updated
Direct X 9.0c (updated yesterday)
Motherboard is 4CoreDual-VSTA ASRock

I hope you can help!

Thanks,
Blitz

Update:

I got the Lan exe (DFBHDLC.EXE) to run and successfully complete the vid test.

However, when I try to run the normal exe (DFBHD.EXE) I now am getting a crash and a sysdump.

Here's what it generates (the first bit):

Context dump of Delta Force, (V1.5.0.5) on 6/8/2008

Yeah, I just updated the drivers about a month ago and I checked and there's not any newer drivers for my card (Sapphire).

So - am I stuffed then?
