Black/White on tv-out?

I was trying to get my tvout working of my old pc, so that 1 can be connected to the tv always.. so i can watch some movies.

Only thing, when i try to get use the tv, i am getting black/white screen, and no color. I dont know what i am doing wrong, because i downloaded the latest nvidia driver, but it just doesnt work properly on the tv.
I have the msi G2Pro Plus-T64D

I have the right stuff.. cable is ok etc, because with my other pc its working nice.

Anyone an idea?

Hmm mine does the same but then it changes to colour after XP has loaded, maybe its the TVs refresh rate?

That cant be it.

Because on the msi card, its 60 Hz, but on the radeon is it also 60hz, and the radeon is working good.

just been looking on google for some answers ... really common problem aparently :/

possible solutions include

there are 2 things you want to look for, refresh rates and if PAL or NTSC. In the U.S. it should be set to NTSC or NTSC-M and have a refresh rate of 60Hz, in Eourpe you want PAL. This fixed my problem, hope it helps

Not all S-video cables are color. Many only produce Black and white.

some tv's are not compatible with pc signal

but i see you think its only a nvidia prob :/ but i just cant find much related to nvidia card specific problem.

most info i can find relates to NTFS / PAL settings

someone suggested reverse the cable just for the hell of it and it fixed some guy's problem!

someone suggested lowering the refresh rate to below 50Hz

I actually ran into that problem last night, i'm running an fx 5600 in my
3rd machine that i use to watch movies i've recorded with my tv tuner
card.
i'm using the starstorm 56.72 drivers i believe. the only way i was able
to
fix it was to go into nview tab, click on my tv, device settings, select
tv
format,then advanced settings on the bottom of that menu, in that area i
change the output format from auto detect to s-video. when that setting is

set to auto or to composite video my colors are gone, it's just black and
white, but when i use svideo output my colors are great. btw i am also
using
a svideo to composite video adapter

Recently I found a bug in the nvidia forceware 61.55 drivers that are listed as newest on nvidia's website. It seems that this version of forceware affects the TV out function as to make the output black and white instead of color.. I have found it affects my geforce 440's, 5200's, and geforce2 cards. Since my higher cards are ATI, I have no other geforce cards to test on. Those with nvidia cards using TV output may wish to use a older version driver available at www.guru3d.com..

It was already pal... but what i did is... putting the scart into the other 1 on the tv, and it worked.

The nvidia card only worked in 1... the radeon in both.
