MW2: no dedi servers, no mods

lol, after all those concerns about PC pirating, its ironic that the first leaked torrent is for the xbox 360 ..

I don't think the concern was people pirating the game. There is no denying that consoles have ALOT less piracy than PC. I think the major factor was to make it easier for stupid people to just jump in and play which has been proven to increase profit (Nintendo). With the xbox, you can play with friends if your in a party and they are already in your friends list or else you just randomly get put into a lobby with random people.

The reason why this sucks so much is because you can no longer have a public server where regulars come in and play. I met tons of people in DF and SOF from playing on regular servers.

I've never heard anyone say this but I think there is another reason behind this move. With dedicated servers you are pretty much guaranteed a game that will work online forever, as long as the PC still supports it. With this new IW.NET stuff, when the game is 5 years old and MW3 comes out, IW can shut down access to MW2 online to push people to buy the new version. I'm not saying this will happen, but that's what EA does for sports games on the consoles.
