i had the ram already... 1 of the 512 chips is 3200 buts its running at 2700 and besides 2700 is 333mhz 3200 is 400mhz that little difference does not mean 200 bucks to me.... The parts i listed is all i bought everything else i already have..

EDGE.. read closer... i just ordered it tonight but if i get a chance ill take a few pic for yall..

i will post as the parts come in..

the cpu should be in in 3-6 days and the new server should be in 7-10 days and same for the case.. (i have oreded from the case ppl before generaly it takes about 3-4 days to get here)

DDR2 is only for intel systems

yeah u can get faster but faster depends on your board and if you want to overclock. e.g. u can get PC4800 (DDR600) for AMD, if you can get a stupid FSB (300MHz) purely for ppl with too much money who can afford to fry their FX55's

nice kit btw

yeah i dont get the deal with your choice of RAM either sry :/

your processor is designed to work @ 200x11 but your RAM is only guaranteed to hit 166x(whatever) :/

surely matching the ram with the cpu would be a priority when building a system?

ok ok yall convinced me.. i bought another stick of 3200 happy?

actually one of the stores around here had them on sale so i bought 1 to go with the one i had.. so now the memory will be running at 400mhz... not 333mhz

steve.. i haven't read very much on the ddr2 ect.... i knew there was several new ones.. but ddr2 was what first came to mind...

BTW

i just got a email the ppl i bought the cpu from said it has been processed and is ready for shipment!!!

so the setup will be:

AMD 64 3500+ 2.2Ghz 1 Ghz FSB
1 GB 400Mhz(pc 3200) DDR (2x 512MB)
160 GB Western Digital Hard Drive
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
256 MB Nvidia Geforce 6200 Over Clocked (OC) By BFG
Logitech Z 640 5.1 Speakers
19'' Moniter
DVD reader/writer/cd writer/cd reader (with blue ray support)
CD Reader/writer (52x24x52)
Logitech MX Duo Wireless Keyboard and mouse
Windows XP PRO

Yeah you will

I am thinking about OC my FSB if possible so that I can get the 400mhz out of my ram. Think it would be worth it?

i wouldn't i have read about over clocking sounds to me like a good way to ruin a cpu gfx card whatever you doing it on... i wouldn't... unless you are ready to buy a new system..

i am also gonna do a 24hr burn in when the stuff comes to make sure it wont break..

( for those who don't know what a burn in is)

you download a program (there are free ones) run it for any amount of time (generally 24-48hrs) and what it does is runs the cpu and hard drive 100% the whole time.. and if you pc didn't:
A: blow up
B: overheat
C: Crash

You cpu is solid as a rock and probably will stay that way because chances are you wont be using you pc that hard again in its lifetime...

bottom line.. if you wanna make sure your pc is gonna be there for you after you put your stuff on there burn it in when you get it...

(NOTE: anyone with a pre built system this process has already been done on your system there is no need in doing it again!) and anyone with a older custom built pc i would not recommend doing this unless your warantees are still in! this process can and is designed to try and get your system to Break.. that's the idea.. so if it breaks you can get your money back..i also wouldn't recommend this process to anyone with a bad or small cpu fan... it may over heat..

Yup burnin is a good thing. I doubt I am going to actually OC anything other than video because it is already fast as crap.

You can oc safley, you just have to do it right and have the right cooling.. What you read about is people that overclock to the limit trying to push out everything it's got.. I have my 2800+ clocked at a 3000+ and it's been that way for a year..

me 2800+ is approx 3600+

it's not bad or dangerous to oc your CPU, the worst that will happen is you sys wont boot, then just reset your CMOS and start again from default settings.

OC'ing your gfx card is more hazardous IMO, its very easy to perminantly corrupt the memory. you can see it comming because you will see tearing and sparklies. then you know its time to knock it back 5 or 10 MHz
