Apparently, a stock JO TR map, yet im darned if i can locate it the stock map collection zip?...or find it anywhere actually.

Hello

ASP_FLT.bin does exist but...

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

ASP_FLT.txt doesn't exist

ASP_FLT.PCX doesn't exist
(needed for mission screen)

ASP_FLT.BMS doesn't exist
(needed for mission)

ASP_FLT.NPZ doesn't exist
(needed for mission)

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

ASP_FLT.bin (possibly bin reference - linked maps)

ASP_FLT.txt (possibly bin conversion text)

Must be one of the 26 AS maps in the PFF or it's a mod

Here are the maps

ASP_FLT.txt is a bin file conversion I just did it myself.

It shows all the info the map needs but the map appears to be named something else or other.

Bear with me and I'll try to track it down - it has to be one of them like you said...

No, i've also looked through all those pcx screens.

Def not there.

I have even looked through the PFF's from two different 2004 cover disc demo installs and a stock JO TR install without JO E installed as someone suggested years back that the JO E or any "updates" kills the map?

It wasn't a mod map either. A NL admin put it the server rotation by request when NL started talking to the community while the Activision vs NL court case was ongoing, but then they stopped communicating with us once they lost :/

if thats the case, then it might just be one of those "nova server only maps". kind of like the stadium a&d map back in bhd.

Hi rulie, was that the map with hill in the middle with 2 buildings you had to take over?

I remember when i converted all the stock maps there was 1 that didn't/couldn't convert.
EE from DFReload had a different converter which he did manage to convert ALL the maps.
Unfortunately he's not around much to get a hold of him to get it.

Hey jabo1SFH and Blade!
I don't think it was a nova server only map?, i have vids of it on the Aussie servers surviving the JO Escalation expansion and the IC mod 2006. It was a small AAS map with bunkers spread out in a circle with a thickish jungle in the middle and knee high water. Honestly, it was one of those maps i never saw from the JO team side, since i always seemed to end up on Rebs and flanked the outskirts sniping.

These are hard to watch since it's converted VHS tapes i recorded from JO back in the day. Didn't have FRAPs at the time and didn't have the HDD space free for it anyway.
The best idea i could come up with in those days was to clone the graphics card out to a TV with a VHS recorder in the middle. The quality of recordings got down to sourcing TDK VHS tapes with regular cleaning...which meant popping the hood of the VHS machine and manually cleaning the heads and de-magnetize wanding every few weeks like my dad showed me "how to do" on the old cassette tape decks.
The actual digital mpeg conversions arn't too bad to watch off HDD, but uploading a 800x600 mpeg to youtoob gets nerfed to a very crap quality avi no matter how good the original!

Maybe it's a map without a bin or rather, some maps might share the bin, ie when the game or server wants the map in a list, a script, (global var or even embeded in the game exe) makes it use the ASP_FLT.bin file.

For example, as far as I know if you link missions, the first bin can be used for all the missions or you can add separate bin files for each linked map.

Im going with that one, so far it's the only explanation that makes any sense! This should really be an X file but Mulder and Scully aren't returning my calls.

So i think what you mean is, the "Gila Marsh" bin file is possibly used in one of the other obscure JO TR missions like S&D, TDM or TKTH, something i/we don't normally play? Maybe the only way to access it could be through WolfRat as a default AAS server setting?
Out of all the missions available in TR the closest one to a match would be Snake River Ruins but even the river beds in that one are too deep. Im saying it had to be made from the flattest terrain option. It was pretty much a "no frills" quickie map thrown together in just a few hours. I would attempt to do a remake myself, but it irks me no one has a copy of it on planet earth.

Anyways, Thanks for everyone's help on this topic. I guess it's just going to have to remain one of those "mystery" AAS maps :/

I reckon it's a reasonable clue so perhaps you could try this.

Look for mission names of 5 characters or less.

AFAIK that's the character limit for linked missions.
