DFX2 MED Little Helper Released.

Hey Hey guys!

Me and my friend BigJoe made this MED little Helper for DFX2.

It allows you to view each environment and each Time of day of each environment. so you can basically watch the whole day cycle right in front of your eyes in like 10 seconds.

It allows you to view the C, H and D views of every terrain.

it has a water color tool that will allow you to see the exact RGB value of the color you want.

It has the DFX2 Wave list provided by Dave61 from Nova hq right in the software.

And it has a DFX1 and DFX2 map database tool which will allow you to select your DFX1 or DFX2 directory and easily back-up any maps you want to a safe folder.

My friend Joe made the coding (actually his fisrt program he ever made ) and he made the map Database tool.

I took all 700+ screenshots for the software and made all of the graphics. and I designed the program layout.

And my friend Dave made the WAVE list which we added to the software.

you can download it with the online installer here.

http://www.novahq.net/files.php?ID=379

We hope this is a big help to DFX2 mappers. and will encourage more mappers to make maps and to help keep Nova alive!

Happy mapping!

Don't worry guys, me and bigjoe noticed that last night so that's what we are working on now.

So just hang tight.

we're making on installer that we can send to anyone else who wants to host it. so if you want to host this on your site, please send me an IM.

We're kinda new at this

yea...online installers esp from software you buy and those other 500k pieces of bird
stuff... they dont gain any savings on bandwidth it mostly adds extra security/controle of thier product and even that i see no need for cause the serial and online activation is the ultimate in product distrobution controle.... i hate them with a passion and its all cause microsoft does it and programmers think its cool and some of them dont even clean house
when you uninstall they leave trash in your registry so you got to download and run norton
removal tool....dont get me started there...hehehehehehehe....

well for nile nlh by old man the registered version is well worth the price
i find it very dificult to return to the med its like being a blind man and some one lays thier hand on you and your site is restored when you use the NILE...and nlh is extreamly
full of automated things you can do that took hours of wac coding...Nile opens your eyes and nlh shows you the way and as you add things to your program it will become like nlh

There are things unique to both NILE and MED that should be combined in the new map editor for DFAF.

e.g 3d full colour view from NILE switchable with the wireframe view from MED combined with the ease of object placement/manouvering from MED. The WAC coding from Nile combined with the Event coding from MED especially the GLOOP & PLOOP from NILE and AI/Team functions from MED (Team alligence switching is a good one from MED). Briefing creation from Nile, Objective creation from MED.

Thats just the pet ones for me but I dare say others have ideas too.

Can you imagine the maps that could be made with an editor that could do just those

Cheers
Wolfmax

I've uploaded this file to Novahq for everyone to download since MediaFire seems to be giving people problems.

Slight problem

The program only allows you to chose the main DFX & DFX2 folders if they reside in the 'Program Files' folder. There is no ability to chose any other directory or disk.

Bit of a problem for those of us who have the main DFX folders on say D drive and 'Program Files' folder on C.

Look good what I've seen of it though.

Cheers
