Confused Mission Linking Scramble

When linking missions, logic seems to go awry.
My first attempt everything linked in reverse, then got it working with 3 small maps with similar Area Trigger numbers. Then tried the same with full builds with no luck.
I took out the "win red" and "win blue" conditions in the event editor but still zero linking in any order I try?!

The win conditions won't work. They will end the map before reaching the Mission linked Triggers. Try using SubGoal wins instead.

How have you set up the Mission linked triggers? Could you post pics of your area triggers attributes that you have setup?

Got 3 maps linked and working from a basic level, now rebuilding the maps in the working links and appears to be working but had a terrible time of it I can tell you.
Seems to be if you try to link the maps after you build them there is all sorts of quirky effects. maps don't like it.
Once they work you can change names and copy/paste the mission in.

Linking

Followed instructions as per your last image Dave, yet it took hours to finally implement.

Cool, so you did get it to work ?

I always tried it before building the map, so I didn't realize what you went through.

Yes and it's fun
Trick for me is to start out with (Map1 to Map2 then map2 to map1) cross referenced seems to trigger something and from then on no worries swapping links around and etc..

I frequently make a story out of several paragraphs, as in several battles to make a campaign, each paragraph! will hold up to 1200 assets, mostly 800-900 assets, with 3-4 waypoints for the player, x-fil is by chopper, easiest way to end a story.
typical Modus Operani for for me 1 mission into target 2 mission complete target3rd mission complete 2 and x-fil...all linkes together with an area trigger to end the mis....see simple, not my origanal idea but was popular with games of the early '90's Soldier of Fortune and such....

I envisage a variable event campaign scenario spanning several entirely unrelated locations.

Might I suggest you try 3 levels(maps) perhaps the same terrain but at diffrent time zones and weather
eg. get laptop at 0400 in a monsoon
get hostage at 14.30 fine weather (bloodbath)
get wasted or waste main Red camp
each level tougher and tougher AI, I do recomend that you use EE's spawn idea on the player, as players may give up if you make it to tough, IT'S YOUR JOB TO MAKE THEM WANT TO PLAY.
As you get better at this hobby you can get really complicated and offer 'hidden levels' if you have enough space left....or options to entice player to stay and enjoy the ride????
I did this on my first DFX2 map...but sooon lost interest, will return one day...

Yep, have included player respawn, and 3-4 maps is good. Mapped so far?...Paratroop, Mountain, Marine and Mobile
