SNES Outselling PS3 and 360 on Amazon.com

Amidst the usual video game champions on Amazon's Best Sellers List: Video Games, you might find something out of the ordinary. If you head south to around number 17, you'll see what I mean.

It appears that everyone's old video game flame known as the SNES is outselling Sony's Playstation 3 on Amazon.com. Wonder why? Here's my take:

* People aren't that interested in PS3s.
* Virtual Console games are giving people major cases of nostalgia.
* People are so frantic for the Wii that they'll get their hands on the closest thing.
* Someone is throwing a Mario Kart tourney and ordered a metric ton of units.
* Hell has frozen over.

In all seriousness though, this probably has more to do with the fact that there are ten times as many used, yellow-tinted SNES consoles floating around, but still an interesting sight nevertheless. – Alexander Yoon

Honestly I told my workers if they sell one I'd cut their hours. It's too much damn hassle when they come back to the store because we can't return them right away! They have to call Sony and argue with them first.

you know i like them the old way they was no online catch or trouble getting a replacement or repair.

i hate hidden catchs

they was cheaper and easyer to get running without any headakes to them.

seem now days they don't last long they get phase out faster then anything. sell me a unit that be good for five years atless

Xbox had 4 years before the 360...

I purchased one on launch day...it burned up in 8 hours. I returned it, two days later the second burned up.

The demo unit in our store worked for 5 days, hasn't worked since. Walmart next to us has gone through 9 demo units since launch.

If you don't believe me that's fine, I'm just trying to give ya'll a heads up before you have your parents waste 600 $ so you can look cool and be a sony fanboy... Check Sony's stocks since Christmas. They had to drop the price in Japan and the thing still bombed over there, in it's maiden country.

I reckon its the fact that the PS3 costs a $1000...thats friggin ridiculous - my scooter cost less than that...almost (not including the helmet)

SNES was awesome back in the day though...seems like its come roaring back!

We well maybe ONE a week and it's to some stupid parent who's kid wont shut the hell up about it. Seriously, I told one woman that I would refuse to return her PS3 when it broke...because she kept saying her kid knew what he was talking about.

Well 4 days later I refused to return it and told her she'd have to deal with Sony...that's like a 2 month wait haha PLUS shipping.

atless you gave the mother who ask for it a warning about it.

wal-mart in my area use to sell the PS3 unit's no more in stock they sell the games but when ask for the PS3 sorry we are out of stock for a long time now? none in.

i see the Xbox 360 instock but not the PS3
