ok i can connect surf and play online, but if i reply or make a new thread my internet connection stalls butt im still connected, it shows the little icon blinking and such but i cant refreash or go to another website or anything, it doesnt happen all the time but a lot of the time.

i have to dissconnect and reconnect and all is well till i post or send something or create new thread, then it all starts again.

and i keep getting an error saying SVCHOST.EXE

the exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) ocured in aplacation at location 0x5b86a3c0.

if i dont click it i can still play online but if i click ok or cancle it hangs and i cant even dissconnect and have to restart to dissconnect .

its weird.

svchost.exe? Looks like you may have disabled it. Either you killed the process, or permanently deleted it or stopped it from running.

Funny this is, you said this only happened when you try to start a new thread, and such.

I'll probably have to pass on this.

have you updated windows?

check for spyware and virus in your system.

if you can do a bootup scan for viruses or do it in safemod run the antivirus scan from there most software will still work in safemod as for scan type software like anti-adware and anti-virus. there they can hide at all

did your system crash like a power outage some time in last 2wks

keep in mind some sites (not all) will hijack your browser so it will not leave the site you came across! when it seem to hang or lockup or the back button don't like to work right, always going back to the page your on and not going back to the page you was on before you got to that page.

Spybot-S&D you can find it lookup google to search for it, its a anti-adware software will remove a lot of bad things in your system, you can download it from many sites out there.

ok, i did everything yall said but didnt find anything and it got real weird, 1st i couldnt sustain a connection more than 10sec and it would hang up and had to restart to disscinnect , and then the sound went out and couldnt get it back and then the screen got green dots on it and the pc froze up.

i got tired of screwing with it so i deleted the entire partition, formatted 3 times and reinstalled windows, so far so good it hasnt done anything strange.

Hmm... hope you backed everything up lol.

From the sounds of that, it coulda been a virus... Did you scan anyhow?

reload the drivers for your modem/router next time, sound like the drivers gone bad it do happens

dont reckon i got a fubar modem or something fer it is dooing it again.



this is the window that keep poping up, i klick it and my connection frezes and have to restart, i leave it alone and i can still surfe and stuff and can dissconnect ok.

what type of connection you using?

if it a dailup modem and it has auto disconnect or you have caller ID it can hang for a bet or act up on you.

some company MFG of modem use ad-ware drivers,

if its new modem you may have trouble with that.

chrispy point out a good item there.

it is a USR56kwin int modem.

i have all the hold and other things turned off so it wont just dissconnect.

the strange thing is i think some sombich was trying to hack me, i installed a firewall and so far it hasnt done that again and i have been connected for over an hour.

that would be funny , connection so slow that if some1 tries to hack it it just hangs up, connected at 24.6kbps at the moment.

if you had to instill the software for it, thats a bad move

tip.
1.) unstill the software for it totally unstill it.
2.) restart your system
3.) system will see it ask to locate the driver for it.
4.) have the Cd in the drive, let windows search for the drivers for it.
5.) after it finds them to instill, it may ask if it's ok to instill unsign drivers? ok it.
6.) restart computer after your done.
7.) setup your account and password and set the dail-up speed to 57600 and not any higher. you find you can stay online longer like 2-3hrs phone comanys love to cut people off this is the norm for dailup users

you may find the COM to the modem may have change it ether com1 or com3 so new connection may need to be made or control panel see modem chaing the com listing for it to the right one.

set the speed by going into your connection properties, from there you see: general tap> "configure" click-on that> from here you can set the max-speed (select) 57600 (more stable 56K)

i don't like US Robotic Modems they are lame as they get badly made i had too many things go bad and they are the worst on my list to buy.....think thats why they are so cheap hard to sell
