Well ok I am startin a site and I wanna know if there is a host that will let you have a free .com or .whatever? Is there anything like that i mean were you don't have to pay anything? Or is that not possible?? If anyone can reply to this that would be helpful thanks!....Oh wait and i mean other than .cjb.net and .to and all thos i mean just .whatever?....

u can get free .coms im 99% sure of this.

im 100% sure u used to be able to get em. u had to wait like 2 months to get em and they have to be aproved but they definately used to be around.

Well i am not really worried about that right now, acculy I need to know are there any HOST that have big space for free? Becuase i have search around and I can not seem to find any. Like BRINKSTER there ok but they can hold only like 1MB of space for your stuff..???

netzero started charging, but you can get a .tk which is simple as well for free, its just a redirect thought it masks your real site. www.tk is probally the next best thing ull find to a .com, for free anyway

There is no such thing as a free lunch and there has never been such a thing as a free .com.
Maybe there was once, when it all first began but the people that keep track of domain names charge an admin fee for the privalege. (I think its about £15)
Where you see adverts for registration for say 99p then you will find that the ISP will still be paying for the registration of your domain in full despite charging you only a few pennies.
This is because you become bound by their contract.
ISP contracts can be reasonable and there are some deals out there which I understand are very good.
Normaly you are caught out by the massive fees should you leave or the humungous cash they demand if you go over your bandwidth.
You can have (as I understand it) a reasonable cheap service with a .com bundled into it as part of the package, but your bandwidth allocation means no online stores or massive forums like here, and no getting too popular or else.
Always always always read the small print though.
