There is no virus on the LW CD, the only opportunity you would have for getting a virus as a result of LW (and most other games for that matter) is if you download a map, utility. mod or the like.

Novahq admins personally check each and every file before it is put up for download by the public, so if you use Novahq exclusively then you wont get a virus...

Yup, I've run servers for all the Delta Force series, and have never had a virus from it.
Tell mom not to worrry on that account, there is no way to get infected unless you open a map without scanning it first.

there no virus in maps at all or the game.

she need to call the tech support Novalogic, inc 1-818-878-0325 and get told of it.

if she really think that she need to scan the Cd to tell if it has a virus in it.
===========================================
only way i can think there be a virus in the game Cd is its a pirated game Cd were some one burn a copy of it and share with others. if they have a virus it may have leech into it. or a player downloads trainers (cheats) they are loaded with virus in them too. i know this i have found it to be so.

think she is totally clueless were the virus came from.
===========================================
she maybe making it up and really don't like you to play it or running the game all the time. you haven't been run your mouth off and saying foul word when you playing it? a lot of mother don't like their kids be flaming around the house ether.
===========================================

some people are so clueless they are scare of everything under the sun even when their kids are playing games.

there are some games mfg that will put adware into them, but not aways the case 80% game MFG don't do that thank god.

but i never heard any that would put a virus in a game at all.

if a person download a trainer (cheater tool) they can have a Trojan horse in them 98% do have a virus, the maker of it Ad's it so they can log-key enters of password and user account name to accounts, when they get them and use them 9 out 10 they log-in and change all the info in the account and keep it. has happen. it don't pay to cheat

there is one drawback to LAN games were one Computer system may have a virus in it can spade to other system this is all so known as a network virus a lot of virus do this. most anti-virus program will not cover games, but if they cover network it will put a stop to it asap from getting into your system.

Avast! go after all types of virus even hackers trainers Trojan horse too. most will not go after a trainer virus at all. Norton will not cover these viruses at all.

virus can spade through LAN/network game and connecting with other systems, it best have a anti-virus programs will cover network but not for any custom virus like them in trainers. these are not on most hot-list of virus were like Norton will not do a thing for them that are not on this hot-list, Avast will go after all viruses even ones not on the hot-listing

you can scan the Cd with any type of anti-virus program,

she's really clueless to how virus can get into a person system.

they come in many ways:
1-web site's (URL site) they can load in with you even knowing it at all. (jar/html).....ect
2-emails there are about 102 ways they can come in to your system, even if you set it to text only they still can get in that way too.
3-files (RNR/ZIP/EXE) on the INTERNET that a worm got to and add-in a virus to the file.
4- Peer to Peer programs (P2P): are the most system get virus from. these virus generate a fake file that is really a virus. most users ask for what they get for free without paying for it.

but gamer software from game software MFG you don't get them at all. but only way if you download a ripoff of the software or another burn the game software to a CD so you can use it then yes a virus can leech into the Cd of that game.

anything that is burn on a floppy, Cd's,DVDs that are burn off can have a virus leech into it asker is yes. virus spade out to all drives even DVD/CD burners too, if one burn a Cd/DVD off.

always best have the real deal and not some ripoffs copy of a software CD.

worms can go any were when there is a drive to be use even a CD/DVDs that are bring burn off. work the same ways as a floppy can have a word.doc it too can have a virus in it, not limited were a virus can go.

but never ever heard a game software, other then cheat tools having a virus to them as in a key-logger Trojan horse but you would not know of it or use them now would you. trainer do have most part 98% do have a virus to them.
