i can see they make some real money from this or lose everything if it turn out tobe a pank.

Quote:
Basically, a camera films the background, which is then projected upon a special surface applied to something in the foreground — in this case, a tank.
anything damage the surface it will not work; rocks kicking up by the tracks pads or a small round hitting the surface of the tank. will kill it real fast think any mud will kill it really fast if it get cake on to the surface. jet fighters and aircraft i can see, but land wise get damage.

beside if the terrorist can get thier hands on it could mean real bad news if they learn how it works, car bombs will go crazy not able to see them drive right up at high speed.

i think its great item, but like all thing there always a drawback to things

think Steve had a hand in this, he really wiser then the normal tech guy

Then I hope they really reinforce those cameras and make them strong enough to withstand battlefield conditions.

yeah a couple of years ago there was a release about how they are able to make the "future soldier" invisible. Basically the exact same concept.

by having a half cutup tank running across the field and say the rearend is invisible. in reality the rearend is not there at all, what a way to save fuel cost j/k

200 tanks in battle not one is lost do to a fire fight.

remind me of the new suit a king got that was invisible and it was in style.
only he was in his birthday suit totally.

i can see other tank crash into each other big time, repair cost be up higher for replacement parts soon lol

There are systems for that :P

Swedish STRV 122 uses a hightech datalink between all tanks and command center through a computer on the tank, they know where everyone is and they know where the enemy is.

I think that it defeats the whole purpose of a tank. Might as well just make a humvee invisable.

NTM every time a technology is created another one to counter it is as well.

Hence that Heat Vision.

will any type of night vision may see them night scope, infrared scope as will see the heat running off the tank.

by the way when they started to hand out the night scope (NVG) funny 6mo later the bad guys all had it as will. all type of version of it can be found in many countrys now day.

you know you aim at a target and if there a tank seating out there in the line of fire, it not going to help any to say i did not see it when you got back up gear to cover that as in GPS and other.

don't care for this not a good item to share with the world.
security to keep it under raps thats all bull it will leakout soon, how they made it work

It is a edited photo, it says "How the tank might look with background images beamed onto the side".

Cammo net ^ also avalible for tanks, reduce IR signature. (Works even better on the tank )

very doable, like ya said little cameras film background and the surface would be like a plasma screen tv and the projectors are in the film covering the tank, but like ya said it could be damaged , the japs have a suit that works on the princaples i mentioned above but in fog there is a empty spot, mud get on it and it degrades the ability, and the dust cloud it makes when moving would give it away.

all ya would need would be a thermal camera and ya could see it no problem.

"all ya would need would be a thermal camera and ya could see it no problem."

There are very good ways to cover the IR signature Barracuda is one, then add distance and you would have a serious problem seing it
