but i cannot find it, what do you type in Run to see what starts up when windows starts up, if that makes any sence. thanks in advance

bottom right of your screen? shows you what else is running and using up the RAM?

thats not what im wondering, there is a config file that shows everything that starts up on windows, and you can go to it, and remove the things you don't want starting up

go to run and type in msconfig then hit enter

for Windows Xp think there another one you can use too, be sides msconfig. to disable startup item that is better then msconfig is.
