if there was a 2nd partion already there you only deleted the one.

some people have the HD with more then one partion.

it best to zero out the HD totally. then do a real fresh instill.

using a 3rd party software to do this with. then make a partion new onto the HD. so if there was any other partion they be wipe clean as will.

i use to have a item it was from norton it use to give me three option to use for zero out HD with free if i do remember.

maybe scott or some other member know were you get a free item to use on a 1.44 floppy to zero it out with.

the floppy have to be enable to bootup set to run, so formate it.

nto sure how it was possible, sounds strange if you delted all the partitions. tbh i would be tempted to start over.

you can get rid of the OS choices by...

start > run > msconfig

BOOT.INI tab

in there it should show the options. just delete what you cont need, but please be careful and check google first about what to delete.

if there is a small partitions like 8mb don't delete that is a space saver. system dos i think

main:1 C: windows NTFS partitions
Dos: partitions 8mb around about this is not a OS setup.

off hand have you gone into her tower to see if there more then one HD in it? that could be a reason your seeing that

will when it instill it may have glitch as it instill and made to of them by chance.

glade you got it fix, take a good look over that Cd see what shape it in.

Mircosoft will ship a replacement Cd like USD-12.00 but need the numbers on the Cd to replace it.

they charge for the CD small fee and S/H. but the repleacement Cd is OEM Type same version Windows you have. give them a call if it broken or cracked.
