Graphic Interface Competition

I am looking for a hot new urban look for an interface which is to be used on a Car PC screen.

The current interface can be found here (and in the resource file linked at the end of the post):

But we're looking for some to give it a hot urban feel, you know the drill... spice it up

The image should be dual branded so you need to include the following 2 designs which are in the zip file at the bottom of the post:

#1 - the XS logo
#2 - the Inperio logo


The current GUI http://kingdigitalhq.com/images/MMI_1.jpg is just a flat image. So thats all that is needed for the contest. Once a winner is chosen, Acid will need it to be made to bitmap specs that will be provided to the winner.

The winner gets the job of designing the real Graphic User Interface (GUI) for our new Car PC. This is a paying job, whose rate, will be fair market value and negotiable.

Here are a few specs about the Car PC aka XS-PC:

CPU: Intel Celeron 650 MHz
Storage: 20 GB standard, 30-40 GB options
Optical Disk: CD-RW - DVD
Memory: Soldered SDRAM 26 Optional 512
USB: 2.0 x2
Bluetooth: 1.2
Audio inputs: 3
Operating System: XP Embedded SP2
Connectivity: GPS Reciever SIRFStar 3.0 TMC
Applications: Navigation (w/3D viewing), Audio, Vidoe, Pictures, E-Mail, Internet, Desktop
Typical Power: 20 W
Operating Temp. Standard -20 ...60 degrees C Option -30..80 degress C

It can look however you want. It just needs to have the same options that the current one has. I.E. volume control and the other "applications" or "options". Other than that. Its up to you.

i'm quite suprised this has been pretty quiet unless ppl are working on their designs.

i think it might be a good opportunity for some to show that they can design stuff other than sigs. you just might make the thing that Acid is looking for, then you're gonna be in for some $'s surely worth a shot?

i'm still thinking about mine, been busy last week, so might only have some rough ones to show. but hey, they will need tweaking anyway, but gives an idea.

i don't know if it ok in the us-states having a screen in the front area is off limited by some states laws reason a lot of monitors are in the back seat areas.

check with your local police dept if it ok or not. before you get a ticket, some states will ticket people for use of a cell-phone as they are driving around. some for any dvd players going too. your driven 100% on your driving not listing to or watch DVD or internet. be careful if you have it on as you driven around ok

personnely i love the ID of a Car Computer system in the dash broad sweet, good ID on a contest

well i was working on one and have no probs finishing it except couldnt add the Inperio logo since its not a gif or png so that ugly tan color is in it
