Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

Surfing around the internet (something I rarely just do) I stumbled upon something you ALL might find interesting at gamespot! I found the latest Delta Force title called Delta Force: Black Hawk Down and found 4 screen shots to go with it! I wish this one would hurry cause this one really looks cool and I hope I am still around to play it when it comes out! Check the screen shots below and please post your comments and opinions!

NovaLogic has announced that it's working on a new Delta Force game based on Black Hawk Down for the PlayStation 2, the Xbox, and the PC. The game is set in 1993 during Operation Restore Hope, in which Delta Force and US Army Rangers participated in a number of raids against Somali warlords. The game will use Novalogic's latest graphics engine to provide the greatest level of detail possible.
"In Operation Restore Hope the men of Task Force Ranger fought a fierce battle in what is now recognized as the war on terrorism," said Lee Milligan, president of NovaLogic. "In Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, gamers will step into the shoes of US Special Operations forces tackling some of their most dangerous missions."

In the PC version of the game, you'll be able to control a number of ground and aerial vehicles, including humvees and attack choppers, and even use mounted weapons. Firefights will occur in close quarters, but some will be designed to take place at long range to model Delta Force's signature long-range engagements. The weapons in the game are based on the same weapons used in Operation Restore Hope.

The Xbox version of the game will support online play through the Xbox Live service.

Delta Force: Black Hawk Down is scheduled to ship in Q4 2002 for the PC. The PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of the game will follow in 2003.

Dude that game look even kooler than TFD. Cant wait to see them both though. LOL will be nice to have some new battles in the DF gaming community.

Great stuff. It looks better cos its official DF4 not an add on like TFD.
My worry is how it will affect the squads that play.
TFD is something squads are already talking about upgrading to, but this pure novalogic title will come just 3-4 months later!

Having experienced Somalia on a first hand basis...(yes, I was there during that mess) I see that nova is jumping on the band waggon again as with Task Force Dagger. Although I enjoy all Delta Force games emencly, I feel they are just profiting on others losses. Whats next??? Delta Force World Trade Center??? LOL 19 good men died that day, some my friends, some not. But, all died for a worthless cause. Although I will probably buy this new game the first day it hits the shelf, as I did all other past DF games, I just wish they would go back to making original games. Not based on some tragic event. Thats all I have to say.

What's the story behind game engine of BHD? Some are saying that they will use game engine similar to America's Army game? That would certainly mean a new V card for me!!
