i made a website on a new domain, in the default directory.. i would like to move it across to another folder inside the domain directory so that i can design a splash-typed page, is it possible to do so even though it has mysql databases etc?

It should be fine as long as you have used relative URLs to linked media and pages rather than the full URLs to them. It won't make a difference to the scripts accessing your MySQL database. Did you use a premade CMS like PHPNuke or something?

look for the config file, and see what type of links it has in there.. If it are full / near full urls change to the according situation..

I'd suggest make a backup before moving

^ Yup. There will be a config file with it you need to change the paths in.
