Problem With notepad

Hi all just wondering if anyone knows how i could fix the problem I am having with notepad.
The problem is that when I try to open a document with notepad it comes up saying that it cannot find the notepad.exe executable. Could someone help me please.

Go down to the bottom and download the one for your OS and save to desktop. Once it's done downloading. Right click and cut it and go into my computer and go to C\WINDOWS\system32\ and paste in into there. Done.

Had the same problem. Got so tired of it I went and downloaded EditPad Lite. Very good notepad.

The only one that doesn't work is Windows NT or 2000. Sorry I didn't realize that. Try the Windows XP version it should still work.

guys guys for one thing you don't download it gee

you "save target" by right click-on it, then save it to desktop after move it to the folder it need to be in:
C\WINDOWS\system32\ put it in there.

It let me download by clicking the link. Strange.

Um, one question, the link is local? How would this download it if you dont allready have it as it "downloads" it from your computer.

Ie win xp link: "file:///C:/windows/system32/notepad.exe" which is a local link.

"file:///C:/windows/system32/" would open your system32 folder

one question.....

the guys who are experiencing this problem..have u recently picked up a homepage hyjacker (i.e.spyware that changes your hompage)???
because this problem is a trait of the CWSearchx malware prog....

if so, then look in your WINDOWS folder in your local drive, u might find you have a copy of notepad in there.......

then all u need to do is copy & paste it into system32 folder
