it could work, at first you ban say, automatic rifles, but you dont do it instantly, you have a voluntary 'gun buyback', where people can hand in weapons (legal or not), and get reimbursed for some of the cost, at the end they are consficated and you turn it into a indicable offence to own one. Humans dont have that much foresight, and governments know it and use it...

Quote from the internet:

'Still, grass-roots interest in a blanket ban on toy guns is growing. "Giving our kids toy guns and then telling them to stay away from the real thing sends a mixed message," says Farideh Kioumehr, founder of the Anti- Violence Campaign in Sherman Oaks, Calif. She encourages children to turn in toy guns, which are then used in pieces of art. The program, Replacing Violence With Art, has collected more than 20,000 toy guns.'

My question is, how do you make a gun into art, i mean you may accidently look down the barral with it all dressed up and gay looking, also, if you pull it on a drug dealer, they may think your queer and run away, thats what i call non lethal warfare

lol i am stupid

ref; Violence With Art, has collected more than 20,000 toy guns.

in other words they ether melt them down or burn them or even clue them together to make up artwork, sorry to me art is not a big thing now days, you can go out pickup trash clue it together and sale it for USD-5000.00 to 50.000.00 you can get some real dummies to buy trash now days.

No your not your one of the smart one.
that person is take it to make something out of it,

believe me she going to make a tax write off on it and some money to-boot. she may say she's doing it for a good reason but bottom line everything has to do with money.

The biggest problem with any kind of ban or restriction in America is the millions who already own guns.(In Florida, there are more handguns than people). Therefore, Uncle Sam would have to come up with a whole load of money to buy them all, which they would have to do. They cant just confiscate them, they'd have to pat for them first. That's in the constitution somewhere. Of course, it also says they cant restric our right to bear arms, so...

But, no matter what they do, I have every intention of keeping a shotgun and a rifle under my bed, a kind of nasty surprise for anyone who decides to try and take my crap.

all it would take is the supreme court to interprate the word 'arms' in the second admendment to that of the time it was written. The SC could also interprate the right to bear arms dosent mean the right to use them, or to have the ammo, or if it was a really wierd SC to mean that arms means the arms (limbs) on the body. It could also determine that sure, people do have the right to bear arms but put a limitation on what type of arms.

Infact the supreme court can say whatever it damn well likes and, unless it changes its own precedent (not likely) or the constitution's changed there isnt much that anyone can do.... (article 3 section 2)

Anyway, i think it is possible, but not likely

wow you know your stuff
but dont you think that some one else has thought of this and that, no one can ever have the same opion as 49 other people, They have tried to argue what the founding fathers have ment by it, but untill some one pulls there head out each others asses, they will eventualy come to realize that people are getting shot

the supreme court has made some pretty crazy rulings, but the 2nd Ammendmant is one of the few parts of the constitution that is almost perfectly clear. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms". Pretty clear that it says you can keep and use them. But even if they did rule that way, we could end up with a small civil war. Remember, most of the people that opposed such a ruling would have guns, and most of those who supported it wouldn't. Pretty scary, really.

its most unfourtunate that gun control wont work, but i think we should be able to have guns and use them for self-protection, target practice and hunting
