So glad for you SIL. you got a job at last...lol
In Australia driving that thing you would make approx $US25.00 per hour on farm work a lot more on the mines. It would be interesting to compare returns(money) on an international scale $$$$$$$? when the market turns, and it will, you can always clean my car....lol "M" |

Less cold
To Mermite: I get around $20 per hour, wouldn't know what you get for farmwork here as I've never done that type of work. Mines pay ALOT more, but I'm a noob and not even done with my training so I wouldn't get full pay Think mining work is around USD$50 anhour or atleast up to that. Been thinking of sending and application to a new open pit mine in the arctic north of Sweden. To Dave: Yeah it's great, it is quite a shock to get out into the heat (the not so cold temps ) though after sitting in there for a long time and then having to do some hard work with your boddy. But rather that then sit in a heated cab and then go out and work in -20 C Last edited by SilentTrigger; 07-10-2011 at 04:28 AM. |

Haha yeah could of been, know they ware probing for uranium around 30 miles from here but I don't think they got the premissions to go any futher with it, the mine up in the north is a ironore mine and i think it will be europes largest
I'm more fit now with this job then the old, I'm outside the machine quite a bit and digging with a shovel |

Me = jealous... except not during winter.
Heck I wouldn't even want to do that here during the winter (-6 to -11 c )

It sounds worse then it is, as whenever you're outside the machine you're most likley moving around alot which means you're keeping warm.
And -6 is generly worse because it's a lot more moisture in the air then at -20, only issue is that you need to drink alot more water at -20 because of the dry air (I imagine that many in low temps never consider how much water you actually need to drink to keep the body happy). But you've probebly already experienced that considering -11 is a quite dry temp, around that temp where it starts to "dry out" Also it's really cool in low temps where water goes from solid state to gas form without ever going liquid, the fenomena that lets you dry your cloths outside in low temps, kinda defeats everything that I lerned about water and it's different states |
