Vietnam XPak Beta Release Date is Mon13th !

Well if you've given up waiting well then just too bad cause, the Xpak has been getting bigger and better day by day.... Finally managed to solve the problem of replacing actula INGAME weapons/terrain sounds etc (not DIALOGUE or additional audio - that was easy).

Until now, i think, it has not be done in DFLW yet. So yep I suppose that caused a bit of a delay again.

Anyway lets cut to the chase;-

The BETA DEMO WILL BE RELEASED ON MONDAY 13th MAY..... and the INSTALL FILE will be valid for ten days only.... so you got between 13-23 MAy to install it (Dont worry once installed you can beta as long as you want)

The BETA requires you to register for a serial number (because i need to know WHO is on the BETA TESTING LIST)
and it will be about a 40 MB download !!!!!!!!!

For the BETA included will be one of each of the major change categories;

- ONE totally new character - (Chester B.Howard) - MACV-SOG 5th SFG
- New AK-47, M4/M203 and the M-60.
- 3 campaign/singleplay missions COMPLETE - all with new audio briefs/in game sounds (all based on real missions)
- New game interface
- New loading screens
- Movie Intros x 2
- 7 Photographic Vietnam Terrains (all based on real map data)
- Totally new ingame sounds, actual vietnam combat recordings, briefings and some sounds from some great movies like Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now and A Rumour of War.
- Over 250 new skins/textures

The Beta is released for the sheer purpose of FEEDBACK, so please provide some.... Beta Testors will be included in the CREDITS. Remember the VietXpak will be rplacing all characters, textures, skins, maps, missions and weapons of DFLW - so install it seperately over a new copy of DFLW.

As far as mplay is concerned - SCREW NOVALOGIC STAT GAMES OK !!!!!!!!!!! NLOgic has refused to lend a helping hand in anything so the XPAK will have its own VIETNAM STAT Servers !!!!!! (that ONLY allows the Vietnam Xpak MODification)

The way the MOD approaches the entire mplay concept is going to require a few changes to how you play, and to honesty !

For example - No more red, blue, yellow teams etc. Instead you choose which side of the war you play on eg US, Viet Cong, ARVN, or NVA !!! All ingame references, bases and flags have been changed accordingly. If you play say the VC, you have to choose the VC character ! (for the Xpak League in any case).... anyway more on that later

ok ty Stevie, but as you might see how i came to that with TFD being put back as with Xpac and both out very soon. They both are an updated DFLW if i can say that and both look a bit the same from what i have seen.
