out of curiosity

.. is any1 else getting annoyed every morning hearing about Madeleine McCann's disappearance? it sucks that some sick .... has taken her, but i dont c why the following things r happening:

*their (and family) stay is being paid for by the gov. (tax money)
*being sponsered to travel "wherever they have to"
*meeting the pope
*other countless things..

u mite think im being nasty.. but ask this.. how many children go missing each year? thousands.. so why does she deserve the media spotlight over the others throughout the world

i know im not the only 1 thinking this as most ppl ive asked feel the same.. was wondering wot u's think

I said this to my mom the other day. Its sad and everything but what makes her so special, i have more sympathy for those that go unnoticed.

I can see your points. I guess the main reason it's getting so much attention from the UK media is that it has occured out of the UK Police forces jurisdiction and perhaps the UK media feel that the attention theyre giving it is putting pressure on the Portuguese police to be more open with the investigation and put a much higher priority on it than they usually would. It also doesn't sound like there is much faith in the Portuguese police.

Also, heres a quote that might be considered - "Madeleine comes from a well-heeled British family (both of her parents are doctors), unlike so many Portuguese or immigrant children whose disappearance has drawn scant attention from the press"

the parents and family have put a lot of effort in to finding her that's why it's very high profile. if you try hard enough and can fund it, then that's what happens.

Completely irrelevant, but there has been a handful of questionable "recent studies" that the news keeps bringing up. Some have been "soft drinks altering DNA" to "lack of breast feeding causing mental illnesses in children". Do you think that these are actual stories, or just something the news makes up to get money?

LOL i remember this really retarded news "story" that came on one time. "UFOs are real, but they don't necassarily have anything to do with aliens" was how they started it. Well no f$%#@^&% s*@^ sherlock! Of course UFOs exist! They exist till we can identify them! If someone wants to label an alien craft then call it by that you fiends! Channel 10 news are so dim-witted its funny.
