Battlefield 1942 v1.61 Patch issue

Hi guys well some of u's might remember about my problem with my bf1042 CD2 .. i can play the game online and do everything but heres the problem the 1.61 patch needs to be installed but since Bf1942 doesnt seem to be registered with the computer (isnt in control panel) it says a Battlefield 1942 installion cannot be found, then it cancels i need this patch to be installed or i cant play on any servers (theres only about 5 that havnt updated) so does any1 have any idea how i can sort this? i cant seem to find BF1942 down the town in any shops even GAME in belfast 30miles away.. and i dont have the money already tried all these fancy tools to try and copy the CD but nothing, i heard about a program called alcohol 120% and it might work can any1 confirm this before i bring my old PC downstairs to see if it works (since i get blue screened with the program on this PC)...

Any help would be extremely grateful.

Thanks

no its a proper version i bought it from game like 2 years ago, but disk 2 got badly damaged (dont ask) and i had to format my C drive with windows stuff on it but my E drive wasnt effected, i can run the games but its got registered with windows or something so it thinks it isnt installed and cant find a place to install the patch to since it searches for the game automatically but it wont because its not registered in with windows.. so it wont ask and i cant find a way to find the game manually

copy the Cd to the HHD first then burn it, will not work burn on the go.

it take longer but in the long run it be a good copy. i made copys of it and use the copys all the time, this way the real deal stay in 100% good no way get damge

i use: Ahead Nero-Nero Express Vr 5.5.9.9 it work great.

i guess you could try alcohol, it's better than most cloing software, as long as you get the correct protection method (BF1942 = SafeDisc v2). but i would guess that cd2 is not protected (cannot confirm this). if the disc is damaged then the only chance you have to to read and write at the slowest possible speed you can make your drive go. worth a try thb if you have no other options apart from FORMATTING
