eek Wow...!

Hey, this stuff is really cool. I've been fumbling through this map making stuff and struggling with trial and error (heavy on the "ERROR" part). I've learned most of the stuff in the tutorial on my own, but this really helped me with a couple things. I fought for over a half hour yesterday with a ladder - and here it was all spelled out. Watching it being done (almost like "Go To My PC dot com) is a huge help.

Someone went to a lot of trouble to do this, and my hat's off to them!

Thanks mates.

Your welcome. That particular tutorial took an hour for me to do. The Basic Map Making tutorial took 10 hours due to 3 re-writes and some compiling errors !!!

Glad someone appreciates it ..... thanks for the feedback

Very good, just curious, why the shift+ right click to zoom in?

seems to me it is easier to use PageUp and PageDown (or 9 and 3 on the number pad)...

Just a thought.

Still, nice tutorial, very detailed, perfect for some one who is just getting started.

Correct.... it is perfect for a complete novice and I know that there are many people out there that would love to know how to create a map from scratch....now they can.

The reason i personally used CTRL and right click is that i use the mouse an awful lot....for me, its easier and thanks for pointing out about the PageUp and PageDown buttons.... Perhaps I will incorporate this on another tutorial and for anyone reading this..... you know you can now use these keys on your keyboard if you prefer !

ps.....if anyone is looking for a tutorial in any program, let me know.

Great stuff... Is there a way to make the Hummers show down? I've got mine going just fine but they're running so fast I can't get up on them unless I stand right in front and hit the [SHIFT] just as they roll up. And I'd better not be standing in the wrong place or it's a lost cause. Can I make them run like busses where they go and stop, go and stop, etc.?

I've got a couple Blackhawks up and running but I've got a problem with them too. If I get on one right at the start, it never lands and that's pretty much the end of the game for me (once I just blow everything and everyone away with the mini-guns out of frustration).

And if I don't get on, the choppers never land and serve no purpose other than look cool.

Can I make them take off and land, take off and land too, sorta like busses (and like they do in the Blackhawk Down games).

ps.I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow so if I don't comment on your answers for a while, that's why.

Thanks for all your help on this.

There is a black hawk down helicopter manual that shows you how to do this. I didnt create it but someone else did. You can get it from our download section or almost anywhere on the internet.

I will create a tutorial for this as well but am busy at the moment designing websites. Once a couple of projects are out of the way, I will concentrate on the tutorial for this.

Glad you like the tutorial Chris_OJB

I went over to the website looking for the "helicoptor manual" and found that I could not get into the download area because I'm not a member. So I tried to join up. Looks like I have to belong to NovaWorld (which I do), but I'm not going to be doing any on-line gaming. I tried joining anyway (so maybe I could find this helicoptor manual and take it with me on vacation) but ran into some sort of glitch. Then there were all the questions about what weapon I wanted to use, language I spoke, etc. This sounds like stuff you'd have to be concerned with if you were going to be playing, but I'm not. Wish I had the time, but alas.....

Anyway, is there a way to get into the download area without making it sound like I'm joining to become a player? I am shamelessly trying to join just to get more info on map making..

Well, I thought that was what I did, and it told me I wasn't authorized to D/L stuff. I'll go back and try it again.

Tks.

Ok, I just went to "basecamp" and attempted to D/L some BHD stuff... and I got this:

"Sorry! You do not have authorization to access downloads"

Gulp!

Ahhhh! I just found some stuff on a site called "Kip Kiligan's" (or something close to that). I D/L a helo tutorial and I just burned it to a CD. Now I'm off to vacation. Hope I can make heads or tails of this stuff. It's sure a lot more complicated than I'd hoped (of course).

If the weather is nice, we'll be ATV'ing most of the time. If it rains a lot, we'll be inside sipping martini's and reading (and I'll be trying to make my helos behave - ha).
