Help! Hosting Problems

When I host my game on Novaworld, people can see it, but it freezes when it says "Joining Server". We are all running on the same version 1.5.0 the newest. Whats up with it?

need to open up port 17479 in your router, forwarding it to the internal IP of the computer running the server.

How do you find out the I.P. address of your computer?

windows XP?.....Start, Run, type 'cmd' , then type 'ipconfig'

it gives u an ip address, probleby like 192.168.*.*

I went onto www.portfoward.com and followed all the steps it gave me for fowarding the ports and finding a static I.P. address, but I still cannot host properly!!

I don't have any firewalls enabled or anything.

Any ideas anyone?

Maybe you did it wrong!What kind of router do you have?Also make sure you set it as a UDP port not TCP and be sure you clicked enable at the very end if its there.

If you have linksys it should look like this!

Note-Dont mind the TS configuration only the dfbhd.exe one with a red box around it and where it shows a 0 replace it with your number because i marked my ip out.

I have a BT Voyager 205 ADSL Router. I got myself a static I.P. address but when I set it up in the Internet Protocol settings my Internet does not work. I have it set to obtain an I.P automatically but the static I.P. I got appears on sites that show your I.P. Is that it set up and working?

When I set up the ports for DFBHD it still doesn't work. I have everything set the way it should: UDP etc. It's the I.P. i'm not sure about. Should it start with 192.168....?

My static one starts with 80.....
Which one is correct?

EDIT: I've tried using both: It doesn't work. I can host LAN games though just not Novaworld games.

Nah mines 198 because of the person who gave me my IP!Everyones IPs are different!Like i said mine takes the Default Gateway IP not the IP!If you do winipcfg or wherver ya go to renew and release your ip settings then there it should tell ya your Default Gateway IP!
