Haven't read the article...Serious Sam was fun as hell when it came out. Hope it has both games all in one.

only thing i see is for PC

PC Classic Serious Sam HD to be Released by cdv this Autumn
cdv Software Entertainment AG is working with Croteam and Devolver Digital to bring Serious Sam HD for PC to retail and digital download in all worldwide territories excluding Russia.

Originally released in 2001, Serious Sam won numerous accolades including Game of the Year on Gamespot and Editor's Choice on IGN. Developed on Croteam's proprietary Serious Engine 3; Serious Sam HD stays true to the source material, as our hero takes on Lord Mental's forces across a variety of battlegrounds set in various ancient civilisations. The gameplay remains as intense as ever and the humour intact, all this in glorious high definition!

Roman Ribaric, CEO of Croteam said "We have been really excited to see Sam being recreated in stunning high definition and to have the opportunity to truly update our hero. The fans of Sam have never gone away and have been lobbying us hard to do this, so we are really excited to be able to confirm that Sam will be back as big, bold and bad as he ever was and we are really stoked about introducing Sam to new gamers as well as his loyal fans."

Arne Peters, COO of cdv Software Entertainment AG commented, "cdv are very excited to be involved in bringing Serious Sam HD to market. The game has an outstanding heritage and is still talked about today in reverential terms. Therefore, this HD version of a classic can only be great news for PC gamers everywhere."

From the article:

"Majesco has told Eurogamer that Serious Sam will return this summer on Xbox Live Arcade. Late summer, specifically, for 1200 Microsoft Points "

MAJESCO EUROPE, DEVOLVER DIGITAL AND CROTEAM ANNOUNCE 'SERIOUS SAM HD' FOR XBOX LIVE ARCADE FOR XBOX 360

Classic Shooter Franchise Reborn in Glorious High Definition for Late Summer Release

Legions of long-time fans and a whole new generation of gamers around the world can now experience serious shooting mayhem as Majesco Europe, an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, today announced that Serious Sam: The First Encounter HD is coming to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Developed by Croteam, the creators of the Serious Sam franchise, and produced in partnership with Devolver Digital, Serious Sam: The First Encounter is re-tooled and re-vamped in glorious High Definition with an all-new version of the CroTech engine.

“We are really excited to update our hero and recreate Sam in stunning high definition for Xbox LIVE Arcade players,” said Roman Ribaric, CEO of Croteam. “The fans have lobbied us hard to do this, so we are stoked about bringing Sam back as big, bold and bad as he ever was.”

The game is being produced by Devolver Digital, a brand new production and publishing company based in Austin, Texas, specialising in delivering top quality entertainment to gamers worldwide at affordable prices by any and all means available.

“We are almost inappropriately excited that this fun and robust game is our first humble offering to gamers worldwide,” said an unnamed, masked spokesperson for Devolver Digital. “And bridging the gap between the fine folks at Croteam and Majesco feels good too. It’s a long way from Croatia to New Jersey, but worth the walk.”

“Xbox LIVE Arcade is an important platform in our overall strategic plan,” said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations for Majesco. “Serious Sam has a long history of console success and this graphically enhanced version is a great first title to kick off our Xbox Live Arcade initiative.”

Serious Sam HD is not your mother’s generic, large-scale, orchestral scored, Space Marine-themed epic FPS with dialogue that pretends it’s an RPG...instead, Serious Sam HD is a grab you by the jibblies run and gun, twitch FPS: BIG guns, TONS of enemies, 4-Player Online Co-Op and stunningly superfluous HD graphics that rival retail boxed games. You've waited forever but Serious Sam is back from the nether with its award-winning game play that will remind you why you play FPSs in the first place.

My favourite bit was when the headless dude ran at you over the hill with a bomb in each hand and roaring. Once you popped him Sam says, "Aghhhh! Yourself!", just before hundreds of the buggers come sprinting over the hill at you.

I also will be looking out for this. It seems most of my xbox money will be spent on MS Points this quarter!
