We'd never be able to settle things through video games. We'd have tons of cheaters, some Chinese guy bmw'ing (b*tching, moaning, and whining) about lag, and a Middle Eastern guy whining about not enough RPG's...basically, the usual

piracy is big here in my country... hehe... u can get any pc games at rm5 per CD. thats like 70pence per CD dudes!!! China believes that what others can do... they can do... even more... they go for quantity over quality. Ohhh the latest thing in my town is... that u can get 3 DVDs for rm10. Bloody hell, its like selling hot-cakes here... & sadly, most of the buyers are foreigners... hehehe... imagine, for 10quid u could get 18dvs.. and if u bargain right u could round up the numbers to 20DVDs.... i $hit u not! Pirates rule the city over here... ironically.

With the way prices of software are these days, how can they not expect people to pirate? There's no way I'd ever pay $700 for Photoshop CS. It's an amazing program, but not $700 worth of amazing...same with movies and music. There's one or two great songs on the cd, but those two or three aren't worth $15-$20, and neither is the newest movie. Profit maximization is one thing, outright over pricing is completely different. I'm of the opinion that piracy helps the industries. None of these entertainment industries are losing money, and in fact are making more. People who normally wouldn't go out and buy something like Windows Washer or the new Killers CD find that, wow, this is great, and go out and buy it.

For proof, there's an article on THG about it. The game entertainment industry raked in $7.3 Billion in 2004 in the US alone. http://www.tomshardware.com/hardnews...26_174942.html

The game they talk about are Halo 2, Doom 3, GTA San Andreas. All of us know those are the most heavily pirated titles, yet they're making tons of money.
