After a year of dating I decided I was ready to ask her to marry me.

So I cooked a nice meal for her, and wrote a poem. When she came home from work it was all set up. She thought it was just a dinner surprise, and I let her think that for a few minutes.

I serverd the salad, and said "oh yeah I wrote you a poem today". She is into poetry writing as well so it still seemed very innocent.

Here's the poem:

"Remember the walks in the park, the first time you noticed that love spark. The laughs, the cries, the nights looking into your eyes.

Remember this day, like when you were in a baby carrige, as the day that I asked for your hand in marrige"

I know its corny, but she loved it. When I got to the last line I pulled the ring out, and got on one knee. She cried and said yes.

That was Mar. 15 1991. We were married on Christmas eve that same year.

Today we have 4 youngs sons, and just celebrated our 13th year anniversary.

Good luck with yours. And dont feel weird askign her best friend or her mom for help deciding what to do. Oh and if she's old fashioned, you may want to ask her dad for perrmission first.

Hire a famous singer that she might like (such as Elton John, because most women like him) and get him to sing her a song. Invite all your family and friends, but don't tell anyone you are going to pop the question. Then when the song is over, go up on stage (or infront of everyone where everyone can see) and ask her. That might work. I dunno if you like the idea but I think its perty good.

She casually says "Get lost" and runs away

Nah I'd go romantic bro. You will think up something. I would do something that no one else has done.

Biggrin

woah.. i love the elton john idea... hehheeheh though i dont think my bank account is big enuff 4 it. lol... anyway....

i almost proposed my gf on my 30th b'day itself y'day. But i've gotta postpone it or in other words... think of something else on how to propose her.... ok here was the story....

my gf loves cats... to cut the story short... the semi-persian kitten that i'm suppose to be getting was bought by somebody else..(damnit) coz i just recently got my paycheck. And whats left are the expensive kittens... which i cant afford (*dooh*). I wanted to tie a chocker wid bells & the engagement ring attached to it on the kitten. And this might sound really corny... a note askin... "will u meooowrry me?" hehehe.... but i guess... i gotta look for a differnt way now... & different timing. DAMN! I thought it would be memorable to propose her on my bday. hmmm valentine's day is around the corner... but i guess its too "cliche'". Too predictable ainnit? hmmmm i'm still thinkin bout somethin.... funny & sweet.... thanks for the feedbacks so far.... keep it comin y'all...
