Anyone seen the Sweden/French/Switzerland/Spain/Italian unmanned bomber that was in the plans (its a debate now, if the Swedish government (Military foundings) should pitch Saab some money for this or not) Just hope its Swedish electronics in there. France is famous for its hightech electronics but also famous for its crashing electronics which seems to be quite a problem. Will cost (estimated, will probebly go up in costs later on) 100 000 000 USD Called the NEURON.

Wonder if this is a way to give Saab some extras, but i doubt it as its another branch of Saab. Strange to see that Volvo Aero isn't in on it, I guess Saab wanted this one and wasn't ready to give parts of the projects to Volvo.

Have you seen a B2 bomber latley? Sure it has some shapes simular but if you wan't too llok for one that resebles B2 you should checkout the German version of a UACV

Why not? Isn't the price worth saving the countless lifes that is put to waste in every airplane crash?

Especially when the price of 100 M USD is split between several nations and companys?

100 M USD is small price compared to the familiess sorrows of a fallen family member! Don't you think?

That and you probably dont know how much the US has spent on thos little upside down looking drones that dot really do anything but take pictures...

Although i do got to admit, ive seen one of those in the sky in real life and it is very interesting to see them fly over. (The initial test for the drones was america to australia, it flew right over where i was as it was coming in to land )

Uavs are not 100 million dollars though.

I think an F-16 is only like 30 mil.

Honestly...when was the last time a bomber was shot down?

It seems an awful lot of money to spend on a bomber but if it's for a nations defense it may be neccessary.

No not an UAV, those are simple and cheap to make.

This is like a UAV but its aoutomated, no one controls it, thats the difference

The specific model i was talking about (the main variant of the global hawk) costs around $70 million USD each, it was meant to be alot cheaper admittedly, but costs blew out....

Its an important step for sweden as well if its mostly kept inhouse, all the jobs created or sustained in developing these machines, which no doubt will generate heaps of sales will be a major economic boost.

Also, how old are f16's??

Does it matter when was the last time? This is a platform for new fighers that are aoutonimus (sp?) and will most likley be a platform for other types of aircrafts.

The price of 100 M USD is a small price to take the fighters to the next level of not having humans that might die, either from a crash or being shot down.

You seem to want to risk other peoples lifes just so you can spend 100 m USD.

I think you should ask your government why they are doing the exact same thing

the front of it look about right the rear of it don't know it look cheap, the engine back blast area look wide open as for the B2 it is close into vents along the wins spans to hind the heat coming out. shape like smother then the B2 thing the B2 is better then that air craft is.

think its a cheap knockoff way it looks

its a disign prototype dude Its not exactly how it will look, its an idea

Secondly, you can't see the behind in that picture. One of the world leading manufacures and modifiers of aircraft engine for IR reduscing purposes who has done work on worlds first stealth ship. Also supplying a modified engine for the Gripen 4th generation fighter which has the exact use as of reduscing IR signature and make it more effective. Also modifing the engines in the F/A 18 Super hornet.

Secondly, every country uses proven models as ideas for new crafts. The US littorial ship will have Visby corvette as its "proven" model.

Secondly, SAAB work closley with the major contractor for the B2 bomber. They have worked togather before and are still working togather swapping ideas.

Infact, they are actually working togather on UAV (Global Hawk) projects where SAAB, a world leader in command-and-control systems has helped Northrop Grumman with integration of these into the Global Hawk.

The price will be lower on an older model then a new model, F-16 is old, there for cheap.
