[DF1] DF1 Server up!

Hope you all can make it this Saturday. Thanks to the Brazilian community, were going to have about 10 people there so far. Hope more people from the states will be there. The server is located in the states as well.

If you are having trouble locating the server or opening the ports, there is a new(old for people who knew about it) method in joining online DF1 games. It doesn't require opening any ports at all. Go download Evolve (evolvehq.com).

Instructions are at website (df1lobby.com) and the forum there.

you should try gameranger guys, it supports all delta force games and also joint ops. It creates a virtual LAN connection to play, wich means, less laggy

I believe Evolve does the same thing. Since the only active DF1 group uses Evolve, I figured sticking with what they know is best for them.

I personally direct access the game. Evolve is just a way for people who get the black screen to play.

The event went well. Not as many as I would have liked but still fun. Come join us guys! Everyone in the SS, with the exception of myself, was from the Brazilian group. Need more US and EU.




Check df1lobby.com for more events. We have one this Saturday (May 31st). Just a few months ago, they were playing 8vs8 CTF games.

I'm unable to join.

When I click the link to join the Evolve party, nothing happens. When I try to join via the game, I click on the server and then get stuck at the loading screen (no text or anything and can't move the cursor).

Yea, we rely on events. I hope soon we won't and people will be playing more at random. Come join us on the listed events! If it is too late, don't worry. Some of the times may be subject to change.

Remember: The more people that know about DF1 being back up, the more likely there will be people playing at random. I have been spreading the word. I just posted on the official Steam forums today. Hopefully we can get more people to play for nostalgic sake.

Please tell me the server includes the Castle Battle map?

By default, no. It does not.

I don't mind hosting Castle Battle Events specifically though.

EDIT: Could you point me in the direction where to obtain the classic CB map for DF1? What I had in mind was maybe have the server run the Castle Battle map every Sunday, all day. Let me know.

I don't see why I couldn't.

I was thinking Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays would be reserved for normal stock play.

Monday and Wednesdays, Fridays would be full custom (CastleBattle included)

Sundays Coop?

Problem is, that is a lot of changing of maps/game types for just one server.

Yea, don't do that to yourself. The stock maps are just fine. Castle Battle and Omaha Beach are probably the only custom maps I would recommend. Co-op maps aren't that fun in Novalogic games due to the glaring issues IMO.

You are right.

I invite anyone with a old spare laptop/desktop to host DF1 servers. Since the game is so old, it can practically run on anything. The connection requirements to host a full 16 players isn't as demanding either.

The only thing that I would recommend is that the host/server run Evolve and Tunngle in the background. That way anyone who uses those two clients can join your server. And also opening of the DF1 ports so people can directly access the server without any client at all.

I know its a lot to ask. I will be posting instructions soon.

That way people have more server options. Of course the person controlling the server can host any game type, any map, and have any rules they wish.

Once all this is accomplished, I will post the IP's onto the website as joinable servers so that people will know.

Just wanted to say thanks for an fun game play yesterday. Was awesome to play DF1 online with you guys. Even got some kills believe it or not.

Maybe i'll join in tonight if i got the time.

No problem. You did very well.

There aren't any scheduled events tonight. But you are welcome to join and wait for people.

The server is open for you and anyone else you can drag along with you.

I have been wondering from time to time where novalogic has been over the years. working through the evolve stuff now. bought game from steam.

Evolve starting to piss me off. Because they added the new game, allot of more ppl have shown up there and now every time i'm trying to log in i't won't work.... because to many ppl are in -.-

But would be fun to play little public just to screw around, but then again.. timezone...

Sorry for neglecting the server. I ended up needing the laptop (the one I was hosting the games on) for school. I bought a new one. Now the server can permanently stay up for sure.

I took down DF1lobby.com as well since the interest level wasn't as high as I would have liked.

All I am going to end up doing is making a few videos about how to open ports and join DF1 server as well as a video to join through Evolve.

The new IP for the server is 71.189.212.124

I will post youtube videos of the process soon.
