did you put it into it? if not a virus may have put it there. restore the file back were it came from, sound like what a hacker would do. if it a shortcut would be ok, but if its a application no restore it. don't even think about deleting it at all.

don't know what fool would seen windows folder or windows application. restore it back were it came from.

my aunt use to go into C:\Windows area and delete items from there think if she not using it can be deleted. man i rip her open for it for that, don't delete crap from there.

man i had to redo her whole system.

"Explore" your recycle bin.
Right click on the item and select properties.

That should show what type of item it is. ( application, extension, shortcut.....etc )

It should also tell you where it was deleted from. ( origin )

Might give a clue what it is.

Its probally something to do with the Icon set. If you go to propeties, then desktop, then into the icons, your empty recycle bin icon is set to the full one

Tools>Folder Options>View>Show Hidden Files and Folders.

That should let you see it. From that point, proceed with caution. I'd suggest a virus and adware scan, possibly even an online virus scan (www.housecall.antivirus.com is my favorite). This sounds kind of fishy, so definately keep a vigilant eye on your stuff.

I had it happen to me but restarting the system fixed it.

Could also try start > run > sfc /scannow.
