That's very unfortunate...I hope Disney takes care of those people...it's the kids in us all that made Disney what it is...such a tragedy..I wouldn't be suprised if the child had an anurism or something...I don't blame anyone...we all want our kids to have the things that we didn't...I let my daughter drive the "Duck" in Branson Mo (in the middle of the Lake) and she was 6 years old...

Man there's no comparision between the "Duck" and this ride. It's clearly stated there that people who are fit can go on it. It's the stupid mother who's at fault here ...

Its not the mother's fault, maybe she did not know the the kid would die from riding a ride, your a Walt Disney World you don't expect to die, I am betting the reason he died was he was not getting enough blood to his head from the amount of G's or centrifugal force he was experiencing

Signs warn visitors about the intensity of the "Mission: Space" ride.

"For safety you should be in good health, and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness or other conditions that can be aggravated by this adventure," one sign on view last year said. Signs also warn pregnant women not to go on the ride.

Sounds clear enough to me.

yeah that's what I touched on earlier..You want your kids to have "everything you didn't" and if my kids could go safely..I would allow them..Some people aren't built the same..we develope diff..more sensitive to certain atmospheres and such..4 years old is a lil' young for a ride of that magnitude..
But hey..your full of cotton candy and sugared up..all the excitement around..I mean it's a theme park..you are allowed to "fantasize" it's promoted in every direction you look..just shouldn't lose touch with reality...I'm torn...Who thinks ..If I ride this I am going to die..when you just saw 30 people get off safely right before you buckel yourself in...?

During an eight-month period in 2003-04, six people over age 55 were taken to hospitals for treatment of chest pain and nausea after riding "Mission: Space," though none of them was found to have any serious problem.
2 b honest, i feel this was a wake up call that wasnt well looked at, if some1 aged over 55 has problems, then what effect will the ride have on a smaller child?

just how i feel, but definatly an awful event

I think the age limit should be b/w 10 - 45.

they can say, "you're not getting on because your kid might die"

i do think the parent is mostly to blame, very irresponsible. no doubt she will try to sue Disney

It's a real shame...Disney didn't create the ride to kill people...The Mother didn't take her kid on the ride to ends its life (I hope) ...it's like when the deer jumped out in front of my truck..I didn't mean to kill it..it just happened..and that's what i say to this..It just happened..no one was at fault..the kid measured up..I would never ride it..I don't care much for centrifugal force...and that is all I have to say about this (lights his peace pipe and nods...for a while..)

yea .. like someone said up top...you don't go to a theme park to ride like ... 1 of the 2 rides they got at epcot and ecspect to die ...

i'm sorry that kid died on such a crappy ride... im pretty good at not getting sick on em but holy **** i almost puked my brains out when i went on it

(i only went to epcot because it was a feild trip and i "had to go")

"which uses centrifugal force to simulate twice the normal force of gravity."

damn that's it?! i thought it was a little more intense then that...

how can u blame it on the mother? her son met the height restriction, im sure millions of other kids have gone on the ride, what would make her think, im gonna get on this ride and kill my son?

how about we wait till the medical records before we bash the poor family anymore, maybe the kid had an undiagnosed health condition that his family didnt know about..
