Mouse problem

Guys help I have a problem with my mouse, it was working fine yesterday, then started to act strange (it just triggered himself to the upper part of my screen) and does double click without me ordering it. And now it suddenly stopped working, it wont move or click at all. I thought a reboot would fix it and it did for a while, now it just stopped again. So i just reinstalled with the diskette that the mouse brought and restarted computer, and nothing happened. It still wont move. I also checked if it was that the mouse cable was being interfered or cut off or something by the mic cable and the other ones, So i disconnected it and connected it again, but still wont work. Please help me, im currently typing from my laptop.. the other one is partially screwed. Oh and I also made a scan and put some of the norton normal problems fixer.. however you call it and didnt found any error.
