Spam in the Spam Forum Please

I thought it was pretty rude of someone to close a thread in the general/general chat/forum and lable it spam...seems that all of the posts on that thread had something to do with the original post to me...all except the benevolent @$$hole post...
Well ..thanks for everything guys..enjoyed the fun and laughs...I'll go spam somewhere else...

were just trying too cut down on the spam in the main forums.. it wasen't your post that tripped anything live, it was the thread in general..

a good example of how the Admin can never win.

1/2 the members complain about spam
1/2 the members spam

admin locks thread, everyone who made a post automatically assumes it was because of them, 1/2 of em are pissed of, 1/2 dont care.

usually one memebr goes off on one and unloads on the admin.

= admin lose.


sry seen this too many times. i dont like losing members, but be reasonable, you really think the thread was locked because of one post? or because of the 5, 6 or 7 (and more if it wasnt locked) posts that were spam?

you have no idea how many ppl complain about spam threads, and it's been discussed many times what is acceptable and what is not, and everyone sees it a different way.

we get bashed from both sides constantly and try to regulate the best we can. calling an admin an asshole is not really the best solution imo. it's impossible to please everyone and i'm sorry you feel so strongly about a locked thread. please reconsider staying with the site.

Fair enough question. but by the same respect, why not make spam in the spam section

tbh i dont think all threads that have gone off topic should be moved to spam, some are interesting and will only get seen in this section. i think only a real small ammount of ppl would actually go to the spam area and start reading through the posts! :/

however upto each admin's discretion i guess as to appropriate action.

it would seem a shame that it would take a locked thread with a message to stop spamming for ppl to realise what makes other members very unhappy, despite sticky threads etc.


also i stress that no one is being singled out at all. hey i post the random post every now and again, but i see where it is going to far.

It wasnt your post specifically live, when people start posting things comepletely unrelated to the thread with the exception as to the number of letters, then its spam.

It wasnt moved to spam because its not a thread of complete spam, as steve said, noone will see it there...
