Graphical Settings

I realy dislike that little utility that runs on 1st start of the game and limits your graphics to what they think you system can handle as maxium..

For us hardcore gamers that want all the eye candy and no damn frame rate, how the hell do we reset that setting that limits what we can set the terrain details , etc to.

Come on Novalogic, that must be the stupidest thing even to not allow people who buy the game to set their own settings, rather inforce some on them.

GET IT RIGHT !!!

Now how do I reset it so that I can set it to whatever I want?

this might be useful for some

go to ur bhd install folder
find dfv.cfg
open with note pad

u will see some lines like this near the top:

hw3d_res512x384 = 1
hw3d_res640x480 = 1
hw3d_res800x600 = 1
hw3d_res1024x768 = 1
hw3d_res1280x1024 = 1
hw3d_res1600x1200 = 1
hw3d_res1920x1440 = 0
hw3d_res2048x1536 = 0

change them all so they have '1' at the end to enable these resolutions to be selected in game

what kinda Vid card do you have? i have a Nvidia FX5200 128mb and it can go to the highest on all of them. it sweet but i really dislike the graphic system on the charaters in BHD. they don't really look that realistic, they look really funny.. they need to work harder on the charaters

theres more to it then just that, the terrain, object, texture details, depending on how fast your pc is, the game will set the limits,

so for examole on crappy vid card you cant set the details to above normal, etc.

get it now?

has it crossed your mind that maybe crappy vid cards are not able to display stuff above "normal" (like pixel shader etc)?

take it easy and you'll have a lot of fun with this game

LOL

god you guys are tools

im not talking about pixel shaders

im talking about things like terrain detail, object detail, texture detial, player detail............

aka how much geometry eatch has

and i know all of them have a setting that goes something along these lines:

Off - Low - Normal - High - Highest

now ill my an example, the graphics card scanning tool scanned my **** and set the following

Terrain Detail - Highest
Object Detail - High
Character Detail - High
Water Detail - Highest

from the example above you see that the setup tool set 2 out of the 4 settings to highest, thats great and all
but waht if I want to have all details set to highest, regardless of the fact that I will have a slide show

maybe I want to drop my resolution alot and set the Details to Highest settings across all the selections....

thats what I have been talking about,

Nev - I really dont care about the fact that my graphic card cant handle something, I want to have the freedom to select it even if it kills my damn frame rate...

I hope you t0ols get what im talking about now.......

if u want better looking gfx, extract all the textures from the .pffs, recreate them so they look better and re pack.

dont forget if there is more texture MB's than MB's on ur card, then ur card wont be able to load the game at all.

putting funnl acreen anti alias will kill ur gfx card m8, even try forcing 4x (or whatever ur card can take) antialias on ur card setting

i think your in a small minority that want 0 frames per second in a game.

btw what card have u got?

so why not set them highest manually? it take max 10 seconds, what is the problem?

I found that the highest setting is 4, because the terrain level is = to 4

and i already tried to, it seems that the same value "4" for terrain detail does not work on Object detail, after setting every detail to 4 manualy, and going into the game and checking what it shows, i got mixed results from low to normal to off.. I think its because when that tool checks what you have, it sets the values accordingly, meaning

for Ojbect detail there might only be 3 steps of detail, 1, 2, 3, where the value 4 doesint even have place, if you know what i mean..

im surprised other hard core gamers didint notice that, hmmm afterall Delta Force has always been a 2nd grade franchise by my view of games out there.......
