Open a door for vehicle
I am using the fort double door entrance and it will normally open when the Player bumps against it. How do I have the door open for a vehicle ?
I tried, but no luck: if event(9) and never() then opendoors(6) // where 6 is the group the door is part of endif |

I wish, opening doors on vehicles just don't work.

Thanks but no- I meant when a vehicle comes up to a door, like a Player would, I need the door to open on the fort ?

you mean front (as in front door) and not fort right? as in fort hood Tx
may be chrispy or other who work on modes know were to start to look

Vehicles:
Can't be done. You can only Open/Close doors on the Pavelow in .wac for BHD. JO and later, this capability has been removed.

use events,
try open and close doors. I remember the event version worked on the DF1 castle wall doors, they should work for the JO castle doors. give it try, but be sure to try it with open doors group and if that doesn't work, try close doors group. it might be switched around backwards. let me know what happens. |

A number of my maps I have a NEED for an automatic door, either as you drive up
or walk into etc etc, one of my favourites is the drive up. in your med, insert a Cwalk 3di (yellow gate) vertically, with walls each side, place 5 teleport targets 1m apart, once activated by your control box the door teleports to the targets, slides right or left, pauses for 5 secs then teleports back, can't remember the audio but it's very confincing, control box here was cbloc with red light the green light for open, wac controlled, secret is in the audio.. 'M' |

What would it take to do that? I know you would have do something to a model, but I do not know what. Perhaps making the doors separate objects that are attached to the vehicle object in some permanent way using more than one axis? That would make a realistic enough door/hinge motion for most vehicles if I truly understand things. Might be pretty awesome to blow the doors off with a nade though come to think of it... LOL! I'm just learning how to program with C++. Is this a good language to start with for use with modding games like DFX2, JO, & DFBHD? Thanks for input! HD |

You could get the doors on the vehicles to open by redoing the model itself, as for having the doors blow off when shot with the vehicles as they are no that wont happen. Nova vehicles are not capable of that because the engine does not allow for physical damage on the vehicles like more modern games, or some old racing sims.

UNQUOTE is the content of this post, we ain't talking about the doors on the vehicle if you want that you better install your Max 3d Studio, and redo the models, or even better just open your MED insert your vehicle go to 3d mode, if your vehicle has a little purple box at the door then you know it can be operated as a door,(go try the Chinook now)
