Some new info about Joint Operations

Source: og-sc.com/hq VIA Freakygames.com

Little additional info on Joint Operations
Last know release date, March 2004. -

What are the most spectacular weapons in the game?

Marcus Beer:

My absolute favorite is the Stinger rocket that automatic will seek the target after fire.
There are lot of impressive weapons.
If you want to snipe or want to use a heavy machine gun, we got a large available arsenal to offer.
Also the grenades are very amusing. Next to the flashbangs and fragmentation grenades we also have smoke grenades, which you can use to create a strategic smoke curtain. -
Vehicles are very easy to run, a determined choice?

Marcus Beer:

Very certain. We wanted to be certainly that everybody can participate at all aspects of JO.
The controls and steering of all vehicles is made simple.
You don't have to be a flightsim expert to fly a chopper.
The same count for ships and the vehicles on land.
We not want to make the same fault other MP games developers made, where vehicles are much too difficult to use that only a select group gamers will use it. -

Player characters: Sniper, Heavy Gunner, CQB, Medic & Engineer. -

Vehicles: Chinook transport chopper(room for 2 Humvee's), Amphibian-buggy (room for 5 players).........and more! -

After the release of the game, NovaLogic will frequently release new multiplayer maps. -
9 to 10 missions on the single player campaign. -
Will use per-polygon hit detection system.

A bullet in the chest will cause a lot more damage than a bullet in the bone.

well now i know i'm not buying it!! when i read theres going to be smoke grenades like in BHD that changed my mind fast.
the nOObs in BHD use so much smoke to destroy the games because they stink and cant play or win.in BHD the smoke is so bad that it lags the game and u have to quit. nova does nothing about this even though they claim to ban for over use.they dont even have a time limit on the smoke, so once it starts its there the whole game. when the smoker nOOb dies he just throws more. i'm going to BF 1942.

sounds kool but the only thing is that novaworld should not cross the line too much. I think they need to stick to making DF games and not BF1942. Let them be 2 separet games. we dont want the same game just different name. Im sayen is nova stick to DF games.

Yes, I agree with that point of view too. The DF series has set itself apart so far apart from the heli in BHD and I for one would prefer to keep it that way (even lose the heli).

It also strikes me as being a bit odd that we're going to have two new DF games released virtually on top of one another. In that respect, Team Sabre doesn't seem to differ that much from Joint Ops. I received the following info from dfmax.com this morning concerning TS:

Key Features

* 2 all new single player campaigns set in Columbian jungle terrain and the most remote islands in the Persian Gulf take you through 10 new single player missions including: destroying an underground drug refinery while rescuing hostage villagers, taking out a mountain stronghold, infiltrating enemy oilfields, capturing a chemical weapons convoy and more.

* New weapons including: H&K G3A3, H&K G36E and the H&K PSG1 Sniper rifle.

* New modes of transport include the MH-53M PaveLow IV helicopter and the RHIB Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat.

* For the first time ever play selected missions as British SAS soldier.

* Sound effects from NovaLogic's award winning Delta Force Black Hawk Down sound design team.

* 30 new multiplayer maps via NovaWorld

* Mod support for building unique multiplayer battlefields.

I know TS is being touted as a BHD expansion pack, but personally I don't see myself buying both TS and Joint Ops because there doesn't seem to be that much difference between them at the moment. I would also assume that the expansion pack will be a lot cheaper than the next full game.

MJ, You got a nice system, but I dunno if it's running like it should.

Played with maxed settings whenever I did. FSAA + AA and no lag at all. Read my specs below..

Biggrin Joint Ops = No Sleep

I can't wait for Joint operations to be installed on my pc. The battles will be toe curling, seat jumping fun. The trailer on Novalogic had me drooling the first time I watched it, ok ok maybe I still drool a bit. I hope to meet many more people on Nova before it's release and would like to start a squad called ~MU~ Mappers United. This would be a squad with a strong supply of custom maps, if Novalogic is so kind to include a mission editor with the game. One can only hope Novalogic will do so. Take Care everyone and I am sure eventually I will see you all through my scope on Nova, Take Care.

dail up you may get lag (SpyWare/Ads ware running in the background) and using a cheap Video-card can make it seem to lag for the card play it offline if the game play seem to lag upgrade your card be a lot better.

i have upgraded me card to XFX GeForce 4 MX440 65.00$ and the lag (Skip) gone away love it, not only that My DVD looks a lot better too on my Pc.
