Asian VPN
I have a question about Switching IPs.
I have a player that joins server regular. I have got a bit confused beucas his IP changes from time very often and if I ban him he gets in with different name and IP. How ever, the site I am using and a very reliable one does not show his IPs as VPN. I have noticed that specially Asian VPNs does not show up as VPN on that site. What do you guys think about this IP issue? Could it be clean IP or is it some kind of proxy/vpn? His name is Fatty=xd. In last couple of days he has joined with these IPs: 183.200.10.72 Country: CN CN City: Taiyuan Region: Shanxi Hostname: 183.200.10.72 ISP China Mobile Guangdong Organization China Mobile ASN 56042 Proxy Status: false VPN Status: false TOR Status: false Fraud Score 0 75+ is suspicious | 85+ is high risk Abuse Velocity: Premium required. You have me curious now. I wouldn't say he's a regular, but fatty has been in our server for awhile now with no problems we've encountered. I had a similar issue back during covid when especially chinese IP players would come in and clean a server. I couldn't keep up with the bans and changing IP's. So I just went to range bans and that pretty well took care of that problem. But. I also had the problem of Chinese players coming in under other known names. I will look through our logs at some of fatty's IP's and see if they're chinese at all, or if this is a case of someone masquerading

I have him as:
111.52.65.155 183.200.10.28 171.120.29.234 And that's going back to mid-October. Judging by the IP info you have, it looks like they're all coming from the same region, so it could be the way the provider assigns IP's and it looks like some of them are mobile IP's, so I'm sure that's a factor as well. I do comms for the air force, but I'm not near as techy as some of the folks that work for me in terms of networking. I'm just the boss haha |
