DF1 scope

does any1 have a idea of any way to edit the scope in DF1, i want to get rid of the crappy nonconnecting recticle.

id assum there is a way to do this being that nova logic made it, i might have to ask them but they would probably laugh at me and say why do i need to know or they dont want me to do so.

I know how to do it in DFX (it's a .tga in DFX), not in DF1 though, sorry.

It could be a .pcx file. I'd extract them all and look through them. Since of the design of the scope I'd extract any .tga files too.

Yeah but he doesn't want an EXP - he wants to know how to edit the scope directly.

By the looks of that scope you could probably assume that the game engine was coded to render just a circle with crosshairs in it. I honestly doubt Nova would have made an image file for that scope, but I may be wrong...

Oh, and speaking of crosshairs, look closely at the centre crosshair in DF1 and you can see the lines are uneven...

Yeah, I'm thinking it's hardcoded in the .exe too.

Again, the reason why I'm thinking this is because the scope, and other things like the HUD are extremely basic. E.g. the HUD for example, is just a black fill with green outlines.

If the scope was something more complex, I would assume it to be an actual image.

ill just do like i used to do.

if i cant get a better recticle, ill just fire a shot in scope mode at 100m and observe the impact, then with a fine tiped permanant marker ill ad just a little dot on my monitor dead center in the crosshairs, works great and i dont have to mod anything.
