motherboard

if i switch my motherboard and keep my hard drive, do i have to reinstall the programs? and i still have everything in my HD, right? (im sure it will, just making sure).
and if i switch my motherboard, does it affect my HD in any way?

in theory you should be ok but last time i did it i needed to format,

so just too be safe backup everything 1st m8
