Help with Map Making Problem DFTFD

Hello, I was hoping that someone out there knows how to use the Lighted billboard signs in DFTFD to write on. Like I have seen signs with Squad names on them ect. I have figured out how to make signs by writing what I want out in the editor then swapping the Y value with the Z value to make it stand up rather than lay flat, but due to the number of objects required to do this it cause a great deal of lag.

That is why I would like to be able to write on a billboard. I know I have seen them before but I just can't find an example of what I am talking about. Basically all the lights are out on the sign except what you have written.
